What I’m doing with my life
trying to change the world.
I’m really good at
Explaining complex phenomena in layman's terms, drunk.
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently I have a penchant for highly inappropriate comments,
even to people I don't know......
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Vonnegut, all of his works, but especially Blue Beard and Slaughter
House Five. Richard Watt, The Kings Depart. Big Bill Haywood's Auto
Biography. Everything Asimov ever wrote (seriously, that man made a
science textbook interesting). Phillip K. Dick. Jack Kerouac, Allen
Ginsburg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. For non fiction; lots of
history and political theory, of the radical persuasion. Currently
reading "The Women's Liberation Movement in Russia, Feminism,
Nihilism and Bolshevism, 1860-1930" by Richard Stites, and it's
amazing.
Movies-Carpenter (except the vampire one), but especially Strange Days. Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, that gets watched every fall and winter at least once. Everything by John Hughes, but mostly Some Kind of Wonderful. Heathers.
Shows-Joss Whedon, anything and everything he's done is genius. Generally a lot of sci-fi. Bones.
Music- The Subhumans (British) and all persuasions of punk (if you put emo in that category, or listen to it at all, don't write) first and second wave ska and Bop Jazz, the two best shows I've ever seen were Max Roach playing with Cecil Taylor and Jimmy Cliff. Oh, and Gordon Lightfoot, that is one mean Canadian. Will give anything but modern country a try.
Food-well, everything, still trying to sample every countries food...

The six things I could never do without
books (seen that episode of the twilight zone where the guy breaks
his glasses......), coffee..... there's gotta be six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
history and human interaction.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out drinking and arguing politics, or, in, drinking, and catching
up on reading and movie suggestions.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't listen to The Prunes/Eric Donaldson version of Come a
Little Bit Closer without wanting to find a dance partner....
