My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First and foremost, I'm a geek/nerd/dork. I like video, board, and card games, comics, and I love technology, especially computers.

I am at my happiest when I'm working with my hands. Whether it's yard work, building and/or upgrading a PC or network, or really tearing anything apart and repairing it, like my car. I'm very handy.

I have a very open sense of humor, I don't get offended easily, and I'll laugh at just about anything. I'm open to trying new things. I do enjoy nature, and I enjoy going to the gym (though I don't go as often as I'd like). I love riding my bike, going to concerts and sporting events (mostly hockey...I'm a huge hockey fan). I also love roller coasters, so I usually try to make it out to Six Flags a few times a year.

I'm ENFJ, if that kind of thing matters to you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an installation technician for a local AV company. I hope to move into the engineering department at the end of the summer, and start learning how to program and configure the various media controllers/converters/scalers/other equipment that we install.

I've also been getting myself in shape. I've been going to the gym fairly consistently (at least three times a week, but I aim for five). I did my first Tough Mudder in June this year, and was super-proud of myself for finishing it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Working with my hands, and technology and electronics. I can understand them, and with all the experience I have from working retail, I can help non-tech people better understand technology.

I'm also good at listening to people, and helping them deal with things. A lot of my family and friends come asking me for advice, because they know I'm giving them advice based on my own experiences, and that I'm sharing what I've found works.

Other small things: getting lost while simultaneously getting us there anyway; remembering tons of lines from movies and TV shows, even after just one viewing; troubleshooting almost anything; more to come as I think of them.

I also like to think i can sing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In the past it's been my smile, but recently, I'd say my beard gets a fair amount of attention.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music (the most important one): I love lots of different types of music. Metal is my favorite music (with Power/Prog, and MDM being my favorite sub-genres), but if you don't like it, that's fine. I listen to pretty much everything. Rap/hip-hop, rock, pop, almost anything that is well written, performed with talent and passion, and that isn't from (most) male country singers. I've been listening to a lot of alt rock lately, like WOtE, Bastille, KONGOS, etc...
RECENT ALBUM PURCHASES: Shatter Me by Lindsey Sterling, AM by Arctic Monkeys, True by Avicii, Permanence by Deathmole, The Beatles Collection

Books: I like action, suspense, drama and sci-fi/fantasy. Stuff like The Hunger Games, Terry Pratchett/Discworld, Alex Cross, Jack Reacher, Dan Brown, Tolkien. But, if something comes highly recommended by my friends or family, I'll usually read it. I'm currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire, the books that Game of Thrones is based off of.

Movies: I'm not super-critical about movies. I care about being entertained more than anything else. I like mostly comedy, followed by action-adventure. I love movies like the Avengers or Transformers. Are they cinematic masterpieces? No. Are they fun? Hell yes they are. My favorites are Captain America: Winter Soldier, BASEketball, Argo, The Prestige, Idiocracy, The Lego Movie, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

TV: Currently my favorite shows are Doctor Who, Parks and Recreation, and Breaking Bad (loved the ending). I also love Sherlock (from the BBC), Firefly, Top Gear UK, The Walking Dead, Futurama, Dexter, Archer, Castle, Arrested Development, Community, Almost Human, Downton Abbey, Brooklyn Nine-nine, and any reality show with substance (Mythbusters, Modern Marvels, How It's Made, etc).

I also love The Voice, but that probably has more to do with my man-crush on Adam Levine (should I admit to that on a dating profile...?)

Food: My favorite foods are pizza, avocado, and sandwiches. I usually try to pay attention to what I eat, but I do have a weakness for fast food. I'm not big into seafood, I've tried it but don't really care for it. I do like cooking, and I love cooking together with friends or family. I love grilling and cooking on the stove. I also love hot sauce, and try to keep several bottles on hand.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:

1. My iPhone
2. Music
3. Books
4. Games (video, card, and board)
5. My family
6. My friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the Universe, and Everything.

What I'd do if I won the lottery.

How I need to meet other people to get me out or the house more often.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually, playing games with friends, going out to eat, listening to some live music, walking around NoHo, or just staying home and watching Netflix or playing a game or reading or something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really have anything to admit. I mean, other than the stuff I would only tell someone once we got to know each other, I'm a pretty open book.

Maybe that I love Lady Gaga and Katy Perry?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to chat, or ask me any questions. I'm a pretty open guy, one-on-one, but I'm really bad at breaking the ice, so please don't hold it against me if I say something lame like 'Hi, you look really cool.' I promise, it'll get better from there. Mostly better. Maybe.

Also, if you like to be active, and like to get other people active, definitely message me. I love doing things like hiking and working out, but by myself, I'm kind of a lump on a log. Having somebody to kick my ass every so often would be great lol.

I'm also bad at initial conversation over text. I feel like I say too much, some times not enough, but almost always, I very quickly end up saying stupid stuff like "oh, man, how about this weather?"

And finally, I'm not just looking for a significant other. I'm down for making friends, too.
