My Self-Summary
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I'm an executive recruiter (ummm, headhunter...). In a nutshell, I traffic people ;-) Different organizations retain us on senior level searches and I enjoy working with them to track down great people and make all the pieces fit.
I’m really good at
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
TV & Film: Anthony Bourdain No Reservations, endless reruns of various Law & Orders... The Usual Suspects, Kill Bill, Lethal Weapon (pre-insanity Gibson), Airplane, Caddyshack, Monty Python, James Bond, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Welcome to Sarajevo, Children of Men, Goonies, lots of foreign films and all sorts of other movies. Full disclosure: My ridiculous guilty pleasure film is Cannonball Run.
Food: All sorts of things from everywhere, but a few faves are anything Asian (like Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Japanese), a special shout out for dumplings, Turkish, Middle Eastern, Latin American, and Italian. I'm a sucker for a great burger, "ethnic" street food and from time to time an NYC dirty water hot dog. Bamba is a rarely-enjoyed guilty pleasure that I nevertheless hope won't rot my insides.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
A few months ago I was walking in Tribeca alone when some youngish women on the other side of the street said "hey look, I think that's Ben Stiller!" I glanced at them, lifted up my jacket to hide my face and darted around the corner into the darkness as they giggled away. And I almost feel bad about it. Almost. Although my close friends don't seem to think I look like Ben Stiller, more than a few people I've encountered in my travels do (a significantly disproportionate amount of them German citizens -- care to analyze?). Thanks for humoring me.
