My self-summary
Hi. I'm a Brooklynite via Ithaca, NY with a penchant for good coffee, good beer, good music, good long-distance running, and meeting good people. I have a few random, marginally useful skills as well: I bake a mean banana bread, can put my tongue into the shape of clover, and can recite the lyrics to most obscure hip hop songs (this is not something I intend to do on a date).
What I’m doing with my life
I earn my keep as a web developer and graphic designer, and I also enjoy producing/performing music, running marathons, food & drink, etc. I don't much like to define myself by my job, and I like my hobbies as much as (and sometimes more than) what I do for money.
I’m really good at
Running, jazz piano, illustrating, listening, impersonating auto-tuned singers, climbing trees, disliking most songs that employ auto-tuned singers, coffee chemistry, urban adventures.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Preferably tangible ones... "Lolita," "Franny and Zooey," "Holidays on Ice," "Rabbit, Run" and most sentences written by Dave Eggers and Michael Chabon.

Movies: "Darjeeling Limited," "The Last Waltz," "City of God," "The Big Lebowski." I'm also one of those Star Wars kids who never grew out of it.

Music: Plenty; Anything that came out of Brazil, Jazz (Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal), R&B/soul (Stevie Wonder, Shuggie Otis, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, D'Angelo, Raphael Saddiq), hip hop (Mos Def, Common, Kweli, Pete Rock), as well as a diverse smörgåsbord of rock and folk music from different generations (The Beatles, Nick Drake, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Oren Lavie, Andrew Bird, M. Ward... I realize that many of these artists I'm grouping together have nothing to do with one another). Flying Lotus, Towa Tei, and Stereolab are cool. I'm learning to play old-time upright bass.

Food: That which is spicy, salty, or foreign to me. Recommend a new restaurant to me!
The six things I could never do without
Great coffee, something to read, food, family, music, music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Outer space, code, music, moving things with my mind, why so many people in this town find it so abhorrent if you don't own a smartphone, and the next phase of my life.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm not much for clubbing, but you can't go wrong with a dark pub that serves fries. Live music is a possibility. Sometimes I'd rather stay home and create digital illustrations of James Harden with birds living in his beard: http://tinyurl.com/ctgtlu4 (done on a Friday night when there were plenty of fun things to do)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love this song and I don't care what you say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rew1UrV2Ix8
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you are kind, down-to-earth, into music and reasonably positive. You like the outdoors. You do not have to love your job, make lots of money, or know exactly what you're going to be doing with the rest of your life, but general ambition is great. Bonus points if you don't make this face in your photos: http://0.media.collegehumor.cvcdn.com/68/76/a9761d3abab684657ecb91ef383fa270-mona-lisa-duck-face.jpg
