Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I used to live in DC and be part of the political party machine.
I am an avid news consumer (and critic). For the record, my
favorite news man is Jon Stewart, and Fareed Zakaria is my
I have a physics degree, but I have no desire to work in a lab. I
do enjoy knowing how things work.
I have played water polo on and off for about 7 of the last 10
years. No horses were drowned in the making of this sport. Noses
may have been broken, though.
I like to use the word "whom."
I'm a pretty big nerd. Somehow that word means something different
to everyone and I fit the description no matter what.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I tried working with the State Department, but they gave me the
axe. I work for a small tech company as the marketing guy. So I'm
an ace with internet searches, and usually I use my powers for
Sometimes I volunteer for political campaigns or social
organizations. Examples? Planned Parenthood, Flouride Free
Philadelphia. I'm both excited and jaded about the upcoming DNC in
I invent new games like "urban bobsledding" or "cars attack!" or
just generally get myself into mischief. It usually involves
gambling, drinking, or some other deadly sin.
(I resisted the urge to write "wasting away one minute at a time"
so apparently I'm also becoming less cynical)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
1. adapting to new situations.
2. fixing computers and the little black internet box
3. talking in a Russian accent, comrade
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My dimples and my totally insatiable love of sci fi
Strange enough, many people think I look like either Javier Bardem
or Jake Gyllenhall. Strangers ask me about this often, but they are
usually 40something women. Update: 40something women are less in my
life now, Javier took a non serial killer role, and I grew my hair
out. So I get Javier from lovely okc dates looking to stroke my ego
now, and it totally works.

My favorite book is best described as whatever I am currently
reading. Live in the moment. Currently: A Higher Call. Next up: I
could use a suggestion because I am tempted to borrow a law
textbook at the moment.
I'm a big fan of NPR in the kitchen and TED talks while on public
I have several "favorite" movies. For example:
comedy: Wedding Crashers, Supertroopers, The Big Lebowski
sci fi: V for Vendetta, Star Wars, Inception, The Matrix
drama: Fight Club, Big Fish, Forest Gump
and pretty much any comic book movie
My favorite band of all time is The Who. My favorite song is Behind
Blue Eyes. Outside of classic rock, I like Massive Attack, The
National, Tool, Flogging Molly, Muse, Fun., Green Day, Thievery
Corporation, Airborne Toxic Event, 21 Pilots, and plenty of guilty
pleasures. I go to live shows pretty often and some good ones were
City Rain, Bear's Den, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, and the
old standby West Philly Orchestra.
I'm currently listening to The Joy Formidable and that new Mumford
I love to eat food cause its so yummy. I call myself a fat kid
cause I like to eat like a "growing" 13 year old boy. I am not in
fact a fat kid, but I enjoy eating, making, shopping for, and
talking about food. I could seriously eat anything at anytime. I am
infamous for not getting on the subway without having a snack
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what's for dinner?
How to clear my mind
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
doing the same thing I do every night: trying to take over the
I kind of miss the days when I had a gay roommate who made every
Friday night big gay dance club night. I really hated it then, and
I really miss it now.
Nowadays I'm probably eating some weird pizza and drinking on a
stoop in south philly.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I love musicals. In another life I would have had a stage mom push
me to be a star.
