I have to admit that neither typing nor attempting to describe myself is one of my greater talents so I’ll just list some of the random bits that make who I am.

I’d call myself an intelligent, kind, laid back, and low B.S. person, and I think a good intelligent conversation is one of most satisfying things on earth. When I first meet someone I tend to be a bit reserved, but that falls away rapidly once I get to know a person.

I think advertising for companionship has to be one of the oddest phenomenon of the 21st century, but then again here I am. So, even though I’m looking for a relationship, Id be quite happy just to add a few more friends.

I’m a trained photographer, but I seem to work mostly in small scale sculpture. I’ve taught at the college level and enjoyed it quite a bit. Careerwise, that’s probably where I’ll head in the future.

I tend to have very strong political opinions. Fox news is annoying enough that I have it blocked on my TV.

I have a group of very close friends, but it’s always nice to add a few more.

I’ve been called a gourmet cook, but I don’t know if I’d go that far myself. I’m also trying to go vegetarian, but I haven’t been very successful.

When the weather is warm, I spend a lot of time outdoors. I have a good portion of the trails and roads in the state memorized, and I’m always looking for someone to go along for the ride. I volunteer a few times a year for wetland restorations or a prairie burn.

As far as entertainment goes I prefer Radiohead over Coldplay and the Children of Men over the Children of the Corn. I don’t tend to watch a lot of TV, but I have a few guilty (nerdy) pleasures besides PBS and NPR.
