My self-summary
I'm happy. I love experiencing different things and I'm pretty adventurous by nature. I'm intelligent and value that quality in a partner as well. A year ago I met a great guy here on OKCupid and we started seeing each other exclusively. Unfortunately his company is transferring him to California. With his blessing I am free to start dating others although I'm still seeing him until he moves. Just providing full disclosure here... if that's not cool with you, then check back later in the summer :)
What I’m doing with my life
I am semi-retired from a career I loved in IT. I don't have to work full-time, but I do need to (and want to for the satisfaction) work some times. I facilitate challenge course programs at outdoor adventure center venues part time, and also take occasional consulting assignments. I am a life long learner and continuously enroll in different training programs varying from photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, welding, cranial sacral therapy, restorative justice victim offender mediation and peace circle trainings - and creative writing is next. I'm loving life and having a blast.
I’m really good at
Listening. Playing. Facilitating groups. Teaching. Learning. Managing IT development projects. Developing and delivering corporate training programs. Programming in COBOL and CICS (LOL!)
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. My genuine interest in what they're expressing. My intelligent responses.

My taste in music varies widely. I enjoy everything from George Winston's piano solos, to some of the Black Eyed Peas rap. I have Pandora stations that started with Pompeii (it couldn't find Bastille for some reason), Matt Nathanson, Jimmy Eats World, and Snow Patrol - just to offer a sample. I love attending quieter, intimate venues with live acoustic music, all the way to big concerts (like Jimmy Buffett, for instance), to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since January of 2014 I began exploring the hazards of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in our processed foods and decided to start preparing food from scratch in my own kitchen. These are full-fat, whole foods, and it surprised me that I started losing weight not-dieting. I still eat in restaurants once or twice a week and enjoy chicken satay and pad thai, an occasional filet, salmon or lobster, and the even rarer: flourless chocolate cake!
The six things I could never do without
My friends
My juicer
My Clarins skin care products

Access to a swimming pool or ocean
My yoga props
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe and everything. I've developed my own hypothesis on what we are. I love thinking about this stuff and exploring ideas with other people who think about it, too. I love to talk about concepts and to see other perspectives, but I don't care to argue, or even to really debate. That requires taking a position and defending it, and that's not what excites me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, playing 30 feet up in the oak trees on a ropes course, at a movie theater, out to dinner, and sometimes just vegging in front of the boob tube.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit that I have healthy boundaries.
You should message me if
you are happy, intelligent and kind, and you've read my entire profile and are intrigued by what it says.
