My self-summary
i'm a transplant from the west coast missing my sf bay area politics. my sense of humor is so dry that i sometimes have trouble myself knowing whether i'm being serious. i am pretty easygoing in general - getting upset is unpleasant - but i care strongly about the things and people i do care about. i wrote this profile without capital letters as a conscious choice.

i don't think i really translate well on paper. if you don't either let's commiserate.
What I’m doing with my life
i got a phone call asking me to drop everything to come out here for graduate school so hi boston. i'm in a department of architecture, but i'm not an architect; my background is in software development which i have been applying to various flavors of sustainable buildings research.
I’m really good at
people laugh at things i say so either i'm funny or i have terrible friends. i have been described as a "negative space person" in a completely positive way. people generally seem to consider me a good communicator. i can cook pretty well when i set my mind to it, which i usually don't, because i prefer exploring neighborhoods for restaurants. i will clown you in mario kart double dash.
The first things people usually notice about me
how am i supposed to know this, it's not like i ask people.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
my favorite book is "the things they carried" because it sacrifices facts in favor of truth. i just finished house of leaves, which i loved - incisive self-parody while still being earnestly entertaining is something i find admirable. i like electronic dance music, especially the kinds that aren't actually danceable (usually ambient something-or-other). daria is a great television show.
The six things I could never do without
this is an awful question
I spend a lot of time thinking about
embracing inevitable tensions
On a typical Friday night I am
this question isn't great either
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
there are some books on my bookshelf that i only keep there to make me look smart. i have no intention of reading them.
