My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love a good glass of (red) wine or whiskey, a meal that stretches for hours because the conversation is easy, witty and mixes intellectual tidbits with playful banter. I want community, a neighborhood feeling with familiar faces and kind eyes -- people who reach out rather than retreat. I love to travel, to explore a foreign city or a new corner restaurant a block away. To meet new people and try to see the similarities while appreciating the contrast, whether down the street or on the other side of the world. I want to live my life in widening circles but always treasure coming home to the comfort of my own bed. And I want someone who appreciates these aspects of life and who wants to soak those things up with me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My background is in sciences/biomed and now am in marketing for a healthcare company. It's been a series of very natural transitions that always felt right at the time. I almost left that path completely to teach yoga full time a decade ago...but I'm glad I didn't then, as the unfolding has been rich because of the mix and my brain craves analysis. Science, medicine, traveling, yoga, running, being outdoors in almost any activity.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading people. If I cannot read someone, something's wrong...and I'm intrigued
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - a huge range, but drawn to historical fictional or memoir. The Alchemist and Pema are staples. Recently Born to Run and Wild
Movies - many
Music - I lived in a great music town around really talented people and was spoiled for 10 years with live music and a steady stream of new experiences....I need to find my way back.
I love jazz and poetic lyrics, but have been known to jam out with my five year old niece and nephew to happy and the Lego movie song. A few that come to mind are Billy Holiday, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald, amos lee, Neko case, Gillian Welsh, emmylou, hem, arcade fire, avett brothers, jimmy eat world, pink, postal service, dashboard confessional, old 97s, iron and wine, Wilco, Norah jones...
And live music, especially on a summers night outside.
The six things I could never do without
