I am hungry, thirsty, and social.

My Self-Summary

I’m looking to meet someone new, but I don't have a specific goal (relationship-wise) in mind. I'd hope to find someone who's equally comfortable in a dive bar or a museum and is always looking to try new things. You’ve got to be able to laugh; I don't take myself too seriously and I hope you don't either. I can get along with just about anyone and have fun doing just about anything.

What I’m doing with my life

I work for a small financial group focused on renewable energy. I'll eventually look toward business school etc etc.

I’m really good at

Snowboarding, falling asleep on the beach, arguing about healthcare/baseball/politics. I also roast a mean chicken and make a delicious ale 'n' onion soup. I wish I had actual musical talent, but guitar hero is about as far as it goes.

The first things people usually notice about me

Maybe the blond hair. Let me know what you think.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Thai, German…. almost anything is good (though Korean food sucks). I like hole-in-the-wall restaurants, but the best is cooking at home with friends. Cooking for others is a favorite pastime...the spicier the better.

Mainly classic rock but it varies: Gomez, Aerosmith, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, 80’s pop/hairbands, Bob Dylan, State Radio, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Amy Winehouse, Jurassic 5.

Reading: Welcome to the Monkey House, The Black Swan, The Origin of Wealth, 1984, Clockwork Orange, The God Dillusion, Goodnight Moon. The Daily Beast, The New Republic, Politico, Slate

Layer Cake, Titus, Pulp Fiction, Anchorman, Requiem for a Dream, LIfe is Beautiful, Wayne's World, American Beauty, The Jerk, Nightmare Before Christmas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

TV: Roger Sterling, Frank Reynolds, Eric Cartman, Tracy Jordan, Olivia Benson, John Oliver, Matthews/Blitzer/O'Reilly (Cable News = Guilty Pleasure)

The six things I could never do without

In no particular order:

- Good bourbon
- Hanging out with my niece
- New Yorker subscription
- ESPN
- Led Zeppelin III
- Excellent hot sauce

I spend a lot of time thinking about

.....what concerts are coming up.....what to cook next.....when I get back to living abroad.....

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually going out harder than I should, hopefully instigating hijinx. Avoiding the high-octane club scene in favor of dive bars and the like. BBQ'ing as much as possible. Definitely with friends, usually in a t-shirt and jeans, but I can look the part when appropriate. Often at the same set of places (mainly out of habit), but the best nights involve discovering something new. At the risk of sounding crotchety, I like places where I can actually have a conversation with people around me.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I do a beautiful job wrapping gifts. It's a bit of a random talent, instilled by my mother.

Casual food/drink sounds appealing. Who doesn't like that?
