I'm another one of those DC transplants. i originally hail from Buffalo, NY. So far everything has been great.

I still get a kick out of everyone's reaction whenever there is snow on the forecast.

I like to stay active, hike, bike, and run.

I have recently crushed my first marathon.

I also run a few Ragnar relays through the year. If you haven't heard of it, they are a blast! 200 miles in teams of up to 12. So far I've done one in DC, the mountains of Colorado, the desert around Las Vegas, and Amish country PA.

I am a software engineer, but don't worry, I don't hide in the basement. I actually talk to real live people.

When I'm not at work you can find me running, on my mountain bike, on top of Old Rag Mountain, or on a fun road trip (probably touring breweries).

I have been fortunate to have met a wonderful group of friends since moving to the area. Nothing better than sharing good company, good food and good beer.

One thing I really would like to do is more international travel. I've been to a fair amount of the US and would like to go on an adventure somewhere unique, and not touristy. Maybe, climb Kilimanjaro!

Books: Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, 1984, Farenheit 451, The design of everyday things, Lord of the rings,

Movies: all three Indiana Jones movies (that's right three), Goonies, Jaws, Die Hard (my favorite holiday movie), Jurassic Park, Alien, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, various zombie films, basically anything by Quentin Tarantino, Jaws...

Shows: it's always sunny in philadelphia, Top Gear, Futurama, Breaking Bad, the League, Mythbusters, reruns of mcgyver, teenage mutant ninja turtles

I like to listen to a random mix of music but not so much country. I really enjoy live shows.

The best I have been to was Flogging Molly recently. It had the most friendly mosh pit I have ever seen. Makes no sense right? :) There was this one guy, we named him the juggernaut. If someone fell down, he would appear and help them up, then mosh away.

Lately I have been listening to a pandora station based on the black keys and the white stripes. I also have a giant 90s rock and alternative mix on Spotify that doesn't get old.

Meeting up with my friends. We like to
rotate hosting dinner.
After that I like to mix it up. Anywhere from low key movies, to a pint of Guiness and singing along at Murphy's irish pub or exploring some other part of the city. There are entire neighborhoods I don't even know are destinations.

I heard a song on the radio that I liked, only to find out later it was Nickelback.

If You are trying to meet new people in a new place, you say pop instead of soda, or are generally awesome.
