My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Graduated from Northwestern with a degree in Theatre. Had fun acting in NYC for two years. Finishing up a degree in software engineering in the Fall. In Seattle for a summer internship making iOS apps.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
All software development! All the time!

No but also reading and Netflix binging. Love discovering new good food too.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making really obscure associative connections to things that I think are TOTALLY on-topic but apparently are miles away.

In that vein, trivia. But also like playing the piano I guess. Singing, if you don't know how to sing and have low standards in what people sound like when they're singing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have really straight teeth as a result of wearing braces for about forever. One was literally sideways when I was in kindergarten, so anything was an improvement. Also my glasses. Probably beard.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Pen / paper
2. This quote:

"I beg you, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

3. A computer
4. Piano
5. Friends
6. Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Left-brain / right-brain shit, though I think I read an article saying it was all made up anyway. And when I say "read an article" I mean "a link came across my newsfeed with a surprisingly descriptive headline".

No but seriously, as someone who delved really deeply into theatre and now is diving pretty deeply into software -- these are very different modes of thought, at least in my brain, and I'm always curious if there's a common abstraction between the two or if they're just fundamentally different things. There are certainly links, for sure, but yeah. Something I think about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, it's a Friday night right now and I'm filling out this profile. So.

But generally going, you know, somewhere. Whiskey is good.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Never seen Casablanca? That's not private but it is deeply shameful.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have a strong opinion on whether I should grow out a man bun. I was growing one out but couldn't make it through the awkward stages and got it cut into what I was told is a "modified pompadour", and looking back with regret is one of my favorite pastimes.

No but I'm in Seattle for the summer / maybe longer and am always looking for new things to do, so if you want to show me your favorite parts of the city, hit me up!
