My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm simple, yet complicated and I like to think that I have a fair amount of common sense. I consider myself to be fairly well educated, though a lot of my education could be described as, self taught. I have/do read an exorbitant amount and I've been lucky enough to have been able to travel the world extensively and have lived in 5 (and traveled to 47) different countries and have lived on both coasts of the United States. I think we (as a society) should insist that everyone travel when they're young so people can see how bad/good the world can be. In my opinion (and experience), traveling and exposure to different cultures/lifestyles, especially poverty and war is a necessary component to a well rounded education. I find that there are distinct and perceivable differences between people who have and have not experienced what life is like outside of the United States/North America.

I love the outdoors, I love rainy, foggy weather (call me crazy.) I love to laugh, a good cup of coffee in the evening and a beer in the morning (especially in the shower)! I have high aspirations and goals for my life. I think money IS important, anyone who says money doesn't equal happiness simply hasn't ever had enough money. Having said that, I realize money is only a part of the equation when it comes to happiness.

I have been accused of being a bit of an "alpha," (though I disagree with those folks). I am very purposeful about being respectful, considerate, gentle (most of the time) and kind. If you treat me well, I will do the same. If you treat me poorly, I will still treat you with kindness and respect, though I won't spend any time with you if I can help it. If you waste my time, are unkind, malicious, vindictive, selfish, small minded, narcissistic, bigoted/racist, a gossip, cruel to animals or if you hate your father/mother, we won't get along very well. On the other hand, if you're thoughtful, kind, respectful, empathetic, reasonable, open-minded, patient and adventurous - we will get along great!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm changing the world! My goal is to leave this planet a better place than I found it, in both big ways and small. I firmly believe it is our job (as human beings, the most "intelligent" species on earth) to be good stewards of the environment and to pass on the wisdom and lessons of those who have gone before us to the next generation. To insist that our children and our grandchildren learn from past mistakes in the hope that they won't repeat them in the future. To wipe out racism, sexism, slavery, war, famine, drought, disease and all forms of physical violence. To advance science and medicine, annihilate ignorance and expose harmful religious nonsense and superstition and to free those who have been indoctrinated by lies and nonsense, who live in fear and mental/emotional bondage. And replace the (globally) pervasive, Bronze Age ideas about "right and wrong" with an actual moral and ethical foundation built on concepts such as altruism, equality, empathy, honesty, kindness, respect, hospitality, generosity, fairness, environmental stewardship, etc...

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. At least 1 person that understands me and is willing to go out of their way to make sure I know it.
2. Football (Go Hawks!)
3. The ability to learn new things.
4. Access to Google (which I invariably use a dozen times a day to find out the answer to some random question(s) I have).
5. 4 seasons (especially, Fall/Autumn)
6. The love of a small, fury animal.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- The future of mankind and our planet.
- Politics (and how to improve the political system in the US and globally).
- Religion (more specifically, how to get rid of it.)
- Geeky "science stuff".
- What I would do if I won a BIG lottery, though I rarely buy lottery tickets.
- How I can learn from my mistakes and capitalize on the good decisions I make/have made.
- I also often wonder if I'm crazy, or if everyone else is... haha
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Honestly, I'm usually at home on Friday night catching up on things that were neglected during the week. However, that's only because I don't have many single friends (or a "significant other") to go and do things with. I'm not opposed to doing other things on Friday nights or the weekend for that matter. I'd rather be hanging out at a dive bar or pub, going camping, sitting around a bonfire or anything else...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a tattoo on my "backside" as a result of losing a bet. :)
