My self-summary
ENTJ.

East coast born, lived in London but lost the accent, Philly for college, D.C. for job in politics, transplanted South for law school, back on the coast to practice law. I read a lot. Decently traveled. Headed to Buenos Aires in the summer with my siblings for the World Cup.

I recently came to the realization that a fulfilling adult life consists of a lot of day to day discipline and routine mixed with intense, novel and meaningful experiences. Like realizing there are no more grades, this is cool, but intimidating.

I think it is very important to be kind to children and polite when you are in pain.
What I’m doing with my life
Recovering corporate lawyer turned prosecutor.

Sometimes I do some Big Brothering. There are some savvy 7 year olds out there. Watch out.
I’m really good at
Thinking it through.
The first things people usually notice about me
The laugh. Think Eddie Murphy - it makes noise on the inhale. Unfakeable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
2013 bests: Winter (Gopnik), 10th of December (Saunders), LBJ 1/2/3/4 (Caro), Capital (Lichester), Suite Francaise (Nemirovsky), Euripides and His Age (Murray), Underground (Murakami), The Road (McCarthy), Nathaniel P. (Waldman), Saturday (McEwan).
The six things I could never do without
Empathy, curiosity, books, family, old friends, macaroni and cheese.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How cool it is to be mellowing out. How the things that us weird in high school now make us interesting. The strange contrast between the amazing abundance we live in and the bursts of asceticism and concentration required to make sense of it all. That this has all been done before, and we can read about what it's like to be us, older and wiser, before we get there, but we still have to do it ourselves.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In high school I spent a year thinking the sound the ice machine made was a bunch of people clapping.
