I am vivacious, slightly insane, and chill.
My Self-Summary
OK world, here goes. I am putting aside my pursuit of a pantry full
of homemade jams, an organized office and my plans to re-read "Are
You There, God? It's Me, Margaret" in order to get this going.
So.....
I am a hard core liberal foodie. I love taking hands on classes in
esoteric subjects. I think well managed supply chains really can
help save the world. I don't hike or camp. I love to dance but I
don't do it nearly enough. I think I want to retire to Tunisia (or
maybe winter in Tunisia, summer in the bay?). I love documentaries,
white nectarines and anyone who makes me laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
I am two weeks away from my bread baking diploma but I have been so
for about 7 years. When I am inspired, I blow glass but I think I
am going to take on sand casted glass next. I have a few barrels of
wine in various stages of the production process at Crushpad (when
I say I, I mean me and a bunch of friends). I am trying to develop
the perfect aperitif. I had a great grapefruit infused fortified
rose wine but I have no idea how I made it. I'm also trying to
craft better powerpoints. I spend a lot of time thinking about
that.
Work wise I do the software thing. I once wrote a program that
deleted itself so code wasn't really in my future. I'm in strategy
which is much more fun.
I’m really good at
I make a mean chocolate chip cookie.
I'm a good traveler - road trips, international excursions and in
between.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am completely unable to hide my emotions (good or bad). I could
never play poker, work as a spy or negotiate big business deals.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - Every book Tom Robbins has ever written, The Omnivore's
Dilemma, Song of Solomon, The Alinea Cookbook (to read not to
cook), The Elements of Style (why can't all writing be that
tight?), David Foster Wallace (but I freely admit that I have yet
to even crack open Infinite Jest)
Movies - anything by Wes Anderson. Other titles that come to mind:
Amelie, Lawrence of Arabia, all productions of Pride &
Prejudice, The Sting, any and all documentaries
Music - the collective works of Tribe Called Quest (but not the
post Tribe Q-Tip solo stuff), Les Nubians, Sammy Davis Jr for retro
moods, Jurassic 5
Food - French, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Moroccan, Chinese, Spanish,
German, Middle Eastern, good old american comfort, West African. I
love it all.
No TV category? - anything Joss Whedon touches, House, 30 Rock,
Intervention, Arrested Development (wistful sigh), Venture Bros
& Home Movies
The six things I could never do without
1. My iPhone (as long as we're being honest). You never know when
you're going to need some shazam action.
2. My crepe pan. The ultimate all purpose pan. Heavy weight, smooth
as silk. Best impulse buy ever.
3. My Passport
4. San Francisco - my favorite place to come home to
5. Fabulousness
6. The number six
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1. Are we finally going to get a healthcare system that takes care
of all of us?
2. All the awesome restaurants in SF that I haven't tried
yet.
3. Where did I put my keys?
4. Why on earth did I buy new leather sofas right before I brought
home a new hyperactive kitten?
5. How can this process be made more efficient? (ok that's nerdy
but I'd be lying if I didn't confess that one).
On a typical Friday night I am
Holding a glass of wine in one hand. Maybe a j in the other. There
may be other people, it may just be me. Either way, I'm unwinding
and it is bliss.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I really loved the Landmark Forum.
