Does anyone really like filling out this part?

I guess you can say that I'm hard-working, intelligent and dependable, and I've been told I have a good sense or humor.

I'm serious about my work, but I like to kid around and have fun. I prefer shorts and tee shirts to suits and ties, and beer over wine.

I've led an unbalanced life lately. (All work and no play really does make Jack a dull boy.) But I'm taking steps to change that.

I do tend to talk more than the average guy, probably due to the consultative nature of my job. But I'm a really good listener as well, so maybe it balances out.

I'm pretty "even keel" most of the time and will rarely lose my temper with another person. (I will however sometimes freak out at mechanical things like my office computer or the self-checkout register at Home Depot, when they don't cooperate as expected.)

If I had a checklist (and who doesn’t) I’d say I was looking for an intelligent woman with a good heart. She should have a sense of humor or at least appreciate one, have a current photo in her profile (yes, we all looked better in the 90s, but it's 2013) and also have a place in her life for both me and my dog.

I’m an independent marketing consultant who helps businesses of all sizes to maximize their sales and profits. I used to work exclusively with local companies here in the Tampa/St. Pete (FL) area. Now I work with a national client base in a vertical industry.

The beauty of my current job is that I can do it from anywhere in the world. I only meet face-to-face with my clients and prospects at our industry’s annual conference. So as long as I have access to a computer and a phone, I’m good to go.

Making people laugh
Listening to problems (both personal and business) and then giving advice
Fitting into most any social situation
Creating marketing programs that increase my client’s sales and in some cases changes their lives
Tennis, softball, and trivia
Getting your dog to like me

Depending upon their perspective, that I have a good sense of humor or that I'm a bit of a wise guy.

Let's see...books would be mostly business and marketing oriented. (I don't have much time for fiction any more.)

Movies...I used to be a sucker for a good romantic comedy, but when was the last time somebody made a good romantic comedy? I also like the "one man against the system" type of movie, like any of those in the Bourne trillogy.

Shows...I'll assume they mean TV and not Broadway. I like 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Californication, Community, Dexter, The McLaughlin Group and sporting events. I hate most reality shows, but I do like "Shark Tank".

Music...Don't really listen to much of today's music. Not because I don't like it, but because in the small amount of time I do have to listen to music, I'd rather listen to some old stuff. Elvis Costello, They Might Be Giants, 10CC, Squeeze, Beatles and the Beach Boys.

Food...Since I started my marketing career in the food and beverage world, I've tried all types of cusine. I like traditional American, Italian, Mexican, Thai...and I'll try just about anything. Just don't take me to a sushi place.

I spend a lot of time thinking about marketing and advertising. How I can help my clients and build my consulting business.

Occasionally at a live sporting event, movie or dinner. But I'm just as likely to be home either on the computer or watching TV.

I've already said too much. (I'll share more as we get to know each other.)

You should also be serious about finding someone to share the rest of your live with. If you're just looking to make a new friend then it would probably be better for both of us if you contacted someone else. (It's been my experience that once a woman categorizes you as a friend, you can never make the leap to love interest.)
