So, for the sake of honesty, I am pretty recently out of a long term relationship. Don't let that be a deterrent. I am choosing to look at it as a sign of my awesomeness being able to navigate something that eludes a lot of people for such a long time. See, upbeat!

I am looking at all these profiles and seeing things that look cool that I normally don't do. So while I have a lot of things I like to do...I am totally open to finding new activities and trying things out for the first time. Why not, right? Life is all about figuring out what you like!

I have a dry sense of humor. British style actually. I like my funny to be smart.

I love art in many forms. I am voracious reader: Poetry, novels, short stories, comic books - pretty much anything. I like music, who doesn't, right? I am absolutely a little scruffy, basically an arty type dude, who prefers jeans and tee-shirts to suits, although every once in a while, i do like to get dressed up.

I love dogs, a lot. They are awesome. I have two dogs, I am sharing them with the ex. And I am uncle to many animals. And some cool kids too.

One of my all time favorite things to do is cook. I am currently enrolled in a cooking class at L'academie de Cuisine, which is a blast. Chances are I will want to cook for you at some point. I also like going out to eat at all sorts of places, I have yet to find a type of food I won't try. When it comes to cooking, same thing. I will try to cook anything that sounds interesting, the bigger the challenge, the better.

I like the outdoors, and haven't had the chance to do as much hiking and camping as I would like to. I love to fish, and I love to cook what I catch. i also love photography, and would love to go hiking with my camera and take pics all along the way.

Try not to take myself too seriously, have friends of all backgrounds. I hate when people announce that they aren't into the scene, but to be honest, I am not into the scene. I like going to bars, gay or straight, it really doesn't matter to me. On that note, I have friends of all sorts of backgrounds, it makes me happy to make people smile.

So I have been trying to decide what I am looking for...and the best I can come up with (for now) is that I want a Ned the pie maker, from Pushing Daisies. The bringing the dead back to life would be a bonus, but not a requirement.

Books: Stephen King, Christopher Moore, Reading Out of Oz, by Gregory Maguire, comic books, cooking magazines...I love reading, and if you do too, that is a bonus.

Movies: Hitchcock, always. Big Fish, Romy and Michelle's HSR, The Bourne movies, good superhero movies, Tim Burton stuff...

Music, does anyone not actually like music? Right now a lot of clubby dance stuff, but I am really in love with Jeremy Little's "If I Only Had A Brain" and am always digging on Adele. Singer/songwriter stuff is good, but I am also way the hell into Kelly Clarkson. So i run the gamut.

Dogs. Coffee. Cooking supplies. Books and comic books. Cheese, I need cheese. And I'll think of the last one soon.

Zombies. And also, randomly making people's days better. I like complimenting strangers.

Fine either staying in or heading out. Although lately I feel like I have been a rockstar, and it has been fun meeting new people and realizing that I actually do enjoy being social again. But...sometimes it is nice to spend a quiet night at home, cooking a meal and watching a movie. And maybe hanging out with a nice guy.

OK, clearly have been thinking about this question too much. Here we go:

Chances are if we date or even become friends, way too soon, I might have one drink too many and say "I love you" which I will mean in a "I love humanity" kind of way, but which will inevitably be awkward for every one involved. And I will probably try and back track the second it happens. But I am telling you now, I mean it in the "I love everyone" kind of way. At least for now.

Also, I MIGHT be able to name every contestant, in order of their getting voted off, from the first five, maybe even six, seasons of American Idol. I kind of loved that show for a while.

Lastly, I have an amazing facial recognition thing going on, to the point where even if I see your pic on here (or gringr, scruff or MH) I will recognize you in a bar, and I might think I know you from someplace, but chances are, we have never spoken. It can be a little embarrassing, and it actually makes me seem shyer than I am, because I am nervous about overstepping my bounds. That is actually pretty true of myself almost in any situation...I am kind of shy, yet kind of not. I am kind of a conundrum.

You are looking to meet someone who genuinely likes people and is interested in learning more about everything. If you like dogs and good food, and maybe have a little bit of a geek streak to you. If you are into zombies, dig the muppet show, and have a good sense of humor. And if you want to meet someone that at the very least, you want to end up with a good friend who will always have your best interests at heart.
