My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm one of those high-falutin' but friendly types that will want to hear your life story over a beer in a dive bar. Or we could just talk about how much rude people on the train suck, I'm into that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated college with a film degree, and now I'm working as a freelance writer (criticism, editorials, news, culture, etc). I also just recently invested in an indie horror film.

I'm also looking at grad schools, with the eventual goal of becoming a teacher. Yup, I'm going to be a frustrated writer teaching high school English. Life is weird like that sometimes.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Karaoke, writing, interviews, talking/listening, getting things down from the top shelf.

Also, I had to learn all the capitals when I was in 5th grade, and for some reason I retained that knowledge to this day.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My willingness to talk with complete strangers about almost anything.

I also have giant feet, so if you were looking down, you'd probably notice that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Kerouac, Steinbeck, Hitchens, Klosterman, etc.

I'm just as likely to go see a screening of NIGHT OF THE HUNTER as I am to check out THE LEGO MOVIE. I love movies, and I'm sad that theaters are on the decline.

The Wire, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, House of Cards.

The Beatles first and foremost, and a bizarre hodgepodge after that. I have an affinity for 90s alternative, west coast hip hop, 80s glam metal, and various punk bands (Operation Ivy, Bad Religion, and Dropkick Murphy's especially).

I love food, and will enthusiastically try anything except sushi and horseradish. I've tried those many times and they are gross.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Word processors, family, friends, movie theaters, books, fancy nights out on the town *clicks heels*
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Could I pull off one of those loud checked sport coats they wear out in the country on MAD MEN?

How annoying my social media feeds are going to be when everybody hears about *insert pet outrage project here*.

That a majority of this country's problems can be traced back to lack of education.

Regional/cultural differences fascinate me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I usually have some type of thing planned with friends, but sometimes it's time for netflix and seamless (especially in the winter).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was the one who cancelled Star Trek!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
*You enjoy classy cocktail bars.
*You dig tall guys with beards. Whatever I'm lacking, I have both of those avenues covered.
*You know of something awesome that I'm not aware of.
*You love Settlers of Catan AND/OR Cards Against Humanity.
