My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Basically, I'm drawn to the salty-sweet.. which might explain some of my other contradictory traits.
I value kindness and empathy - but I'm also a smart ass. I'm gregarious and unabashedly American, but I do try to tone it down. I like telling (and retelling) stories but I relish silence.

For a while, my life was devoted to trying on different cities and different continents, happily alternating between brainwork and creative leisure. A couple years ago I decided to anchor myself in London for a job where I get to design new stuff (and the ideas behind the stuff) - so I've got more than enough mental stimulation to finally calm my inner Wandering Jew. I'm enjoying the process of slowly rediscovering this place. This typically includes long trips to good food, cycling around London without a map, and spending whole days on a trail in the countryside somewhere. This will also include many lazy Sundays postponing adventure and reading The New Yorker instead.

I am a storyteller, enthusiastic, and a halfassed polyglot

The ideal guy? Well - there are so many pre-set molds to fit into in gay-land - and it seems like half of them involve a certain sarcastic bitchiness that stands in the way of real connection. I'd love to find someone who isn't afraid of a little genuine enthusiasm, someone who embraces their nerdiness (and mine..) With any luck, you'll be openhearted, good with kids and pets and able to laugh off the stresses of urban life. Curiosity is a prerequisite, and smarts is nice (Economist readers, please step forward) - Mostly though you should be able to pick apart an issue and hold an opinion, but not take yourself so seriously that it prevents us from enjoying a great dinner or an enthusiastic roll in the hay.

... and of course, I'd love to meet anyone who's read the above checklist and thinks it's a load of crap, but is up for sharing a couple of beers nonetheless..
