Hey! My name is Julia. I was born and raised in NY (a fact which I'm very proud--I heart NY), but went to college at University of Delaware and decided to get my master's (in Elementary and Special Education) down there too. I moved back to NY last summer to be closer to my family and friends. I'm a first grade teacher at a public school in the South Bronx. It's my dream job and I feel so lucky to be able to do what I'm passionate about! I love working in the Bronx because I feel like I'm making a positive impact on my students' lives every day. It's important for me to feel like I'm making a difference in the world.

When I'm not working, I love spending time with my friends and family, who I'm very close with. I am so grateful to have such wonderful people surrounding me! I also love to run as a way to stay healthy and to relieve stress. I'm always down to try new things!

Teaching. I try to be a positive role model for my students. When I leave work each day, I feel happy and satisfied that I was able to be a stable, nurturing person in their lives.

Talking and connecting with people, looking cute, organizing things, making out, writing, staying upbeat and positive.

My eyes. They're hazel.

Hmmm...my favorite books are Owen Meany and The Great Gatsby, but I'm usually reading something new.

Favorite movies are usually something girly and ridiculous, but I'd see any movie at least once. I also really enjoy documentaries.

I love, love, love music of all kinds. My ipod has everything from Bob Dylan to Beyonce. There's just something about a great song that can impact me in a way nothing else can.

My favorite foods are desserts! Looove warm, soft in the middle chocolate chip cookies.

Fate. I'm endlessly fascinated by how things just always seem to work out. When I get down, I try to remind myself: Che sera, sera. What will be, will be.

Seeing friends, out to dinner or drinks, watching a movie, or decompressing from the work week in my bed.
