I am hard working and committed to my career. I think that building up my career is fundamental for growing in other areas of my life. I am a foreign government officer, a political scientist. I do political, security and economic cooperation between the US and Mexico so that our countries can solve mutual problems. I believe in a world where freedom, justice and prosperity prevail over poverty, inequality and oppression. I think I am lucky to be alive in this Postmodern era when the world is flat and interconnected and our quality and length of life have been so much increased.
I love traveling and being exposed to new cultures and individuals. I think that the world is a mosaic of different expressions of how to live and there is not a right way to do things, but many ways to get things done. I like to broaden my vision of the world by traveling, reading, writing and conversing. There is so much to learn from others that I try to be receptive all the time. I also should mention that I am a Mexico City transplant and I have been in Arizona for more than a year.
I take care of my body and mind. I work out to release the stress of the day. I like to run 4 miles a day and hit the gym regularly. I try to eat healthy food and avoid processed food and soft drinks, but from time to time I indulge myself with some sweets.
I think that living in community is important. A family is the backbone of any person and the community is also a very important component of social life. For me it is fundamental to acknowledge others and their needs and expectations and treat them fairly. Empathy is very important. I believe that the world could be a very peaceful place to live if we showed more compassion and understanding to others.
I love reading, watching the news and documentaries. I love political science and international relations literature. I do love reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee. I would also engage in deep conversations over a glass of wine. I am not into literature (poems, tales and novels) but I love reading literature on how to be a better person.
I think touching is a very important way to express loved and being loved. I love cuddling and seeing movies. I think that is a very romantic moment, a very private moment when you are aware and sharing your feelings with your special one. Quality time is also one of my ways of expressing my love to someone.
I think there is nothing for sure in life and the gray areas are the rule, not the exception. So far I think that faith is the most rational of all the choices. I want to have faith that everywhere I go, whatever I do for a living, whomever I am with, I will be fine, happy and grateful. I am learning how to not to struggle and enjoy life. I was raised catholic and then tried other Christian denominations. Right now I do respect religion but I am agnostic and eclectic.
Will leave you with a quote that I found interesting: "Dating without the intent of marriage, is like going grocery shopping with no money. You either leave unsatisfied or take something that isn't yours"
