My self-summary
I've been published in Rolling Stone magazine. Don't be too impressed. It was 100-word album reviews in the back of the magazine. For a few issues. And no, I never met Ben Fong-Torres.

I'm in a creative field, appreciate the visual and performing arts, get to a Giants home game occasionally, love a great meal and lively conversation. On the weekends, I'm all about late morning/early afternoon brunch with a spicy bloody mary, the New York Times, and good company.

I am a movie fan, or maybe I just like an excuse to eat popcorn. I've never quite figured that out. Not much of a shopper, but the artisan food trend/Ferry Building foodhall/farmer's market appeals to me.

I'm fascinated and inspired by the possibilities ahead of us - business, technology, our economy, social change and politics. Yes, I am an optimist, full time. :)

And you?
What I’m doing with my life
Adding to the delight in the world.
Helping friends maintain perspective during these challenging times. Keeping a sense of humor.
Writing lists that may, or may not, become a humor book.
Having a wonderful time in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Wishing you were here... sigh.
I’m really good at
Making you smile. Accidentally. Or on purpose.
Being a best friend/lover.
Fixing creative, delicious meals. You bring the wine?
Randomly speculating if the "teens" (2013+) will make the 1960s look like the 1950s?
Discovering the next "you gotta hear this!" music.
Listening.
Making good things happen.
The first things people usually notice about me
My energy. My blue eyes. My infectious laugh.
Technology is great, isn't it? All those people addicted to their iPhones and iPads, I so want to believe it means something.
For me? Right now? The Real Stuff Of Life (to borrow a line from a famous crooner) is being present.
Thanking the minimum wage worker who bags my groceries.
Giving the delivery guy a 20% cash tip.
Exchanging a genuine smile with a stranger.
Holding hands across the table. (with you!)

What is it that people notice about you?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Most Woody Allen films, books and clips of him playing clarinet at Michael's Pub.

Loved John Cusak in The Raven. Brilliant casting. Interesting script. Admired his work in High Fidelity, Grosse Point Blank, the cameo in Map of the Human Heart and those, um ... forgettable teen films.

Spamalot. I went because friends offered an extra ticket. I've always found Monty Python and the Holy Grail ... odd. A musical? In the theater? Sigh. Do I have to? Wow. Surprised. In the best possible way. John Cleese said it best: This is the silliest thing I have ever seen.

I might be dating myself by saying I like Cake AND Train. Bob Marley, UB40 AND The Fugees. Connecting the dots isn't too hard, there, is it?

My life is full of (books, movies, shows, music and food) favorites. Ask! Or, better yet, let's share one yours, one of mine, one of yours, one of mine ...
The six things I could never do without
Parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, basil and fresh-ground black pepper
Good movies, books, plays, songs
An inspiring glass of wine, typically a cuvee
Laughter
Mad money
Making eye contact (with you)
Sharing a sly, knowing smile (with you)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
John Lennon. He was right: Love is the answer.

Henry Selick. He was right: No matter what happens, make good art.

Martin Luther King. He was right: I have a dream.

Chef Jamie Oliver. He was right: We need a food revolution in this country.

What is your answer? What is your Art? Tell me your Dream?
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical anything in my life. On any night you'll find me:
Making dinner with friends
Watching a movie (with you?)
Doing laundry, vacuuming, rearranging furniture
Rewriting a script
Learning lines for a commercial shoot
Writing a thank you note, birthday card or letter to a friend
Why yes, I AM single-handedly keeping the USPS in business
Talking on the phone (with you?)
Dancing (with you, for sure!)
The list goes on and on
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've seen the movie You've Got Mail enough times to know most of the dialogue and sound track.

I can say the same thing about
That Thing You Do
Four Weddings And A Funeral
When Harry Met Sally
So I Married An Axe Murderer

Don't worry. I won't ever ask you to watch those movie with me. Unless... you want to? Nah! Men don't like chick flicks. Do they?
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 45–65
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're in San Francisco. Or very nearby. Maybe you visit SF for business with some frequency?

You are not addicted to your iPhone or iPad or iBeam. :)

You are really ready to have a good woman in your life.

You know having a glass of champagne at Top of the Mark while watching the sunset beats a walk in the beach most days.

You have smarts - the degree and the life experience kind. You can talk about something other than your kids.

You like smart blondes! Let's make up the rest as we go along?
