I spend a lot of time thinking about
the patterns of exlusion.

by Rev. Josh Pawelek: The patterns of exclusion were established long before us. But when did we intentionally change them? If we never changed them, then they are still with us, perhaps deeply buried, but still with us. What might those limits be? What ancient definitions of "normal" might we be unconsciously perpetuating without examination? Who might we be excluding today such that our descendents a few generations hence will look back and say, "they couldn't help it, they were products of their times?" I say, let us not be products of our times. Let us embrace the challenge of expanding our unexamined assumptions about who belongs, who is invited in.
