I am honest, passionate, and adventurous.
My Self-Summary
Let's see, a friend made me take the Myers-Briggs yesterday and I
am apparently an INFJ, which is the rarest type. I don't actually
know what this means, but I do like the fact that it is unusual.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work in the international development field, but I am
intensely cynical about it. Ask me about this sometime. I lived
overseas in East Africa for about four years and I frequently think
about going back, though the lure of reliable electricity and good
cheese have kept me here...for now. Lately I have been pondering
opening a small, eco-friendly, socially-conscious, low-budget
hotel/guest house in coastal Kenya, but this is in its nascent
stages, and will require me to first pay off a bazillion dollars in
student loan debt.
UPDATE**I have a new job! I'm still cynical, but in a much less
toxic way. Hooray for me.
I’m really good at
being sarcastic, giving advice, making my boss uncomfortable.
UPDATE**I don't make my new boss uncomfortable...yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
an aura.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music: Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru, Peter Gabriel, anything Cuban,
Alpha Blondy, Massive Attack, Cheb Khaled, Manu Chao, Cheikh Lo,
Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints, the blue Weezer album, 1 Giant
Leap, embarrassingly bad pop (especially Britney). Many others, too
numerous to attempt to name.
TV Shows: xfiles (seasons 1-7 only, and season 7 kinda sucked), sex
and the city. i've had several people tell me that Weeds would be
my favorite show if i ever watched it but as of yet i
haven't...
Movies: the business of being born, the labyrinth, sicko, god grew
tired of us, dead poets society, old school, mean girls, 16
candles, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, sex and lucia,
etc...
Books: King Leopold's Ghost, The Poisonwood Bible, Where the Red
Fern Grows, Pathologies of Power, Lords of Poverty, The Bride
Stripped Bare.
Food: I like trying new ethnic foods. For some reason I don't like
Thai as much as I feel I should. But I love Indian (paneer tikka
masala is a personal favorite). Also, to quote Tom Robbins: "Never
underestimate how much assistance, how much satisfaction, how much
soul and transcendence there might be in a well-made taco and a
cold bottle of beer."
The six things I could never do without
a list of things to do
email (how did we GET BY?)
a pet
good beer and cheap wine
satire
tropical beaches - the more deserted the better
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
wouldn't YOU like to know!?
You should message me if
you are confident, intelligent, and passionate about something.
open-mindedness and a love of the unconventional are also good.
note that confident is number one on the list...
