I am tallish, at times clever, and not insufferable.

My Self-Summary

I'm a psychiatrist (now double trained in both adult and child and adolescent), I spent many years in the trenches of Bellevue's ER and am a homeless person celebrity (I get into the VIP sections of all the crackhouses and shelters.) Now relaxing into a less psychotic lifestyle (literally) of private practice. I love what I do, and consider it an honor. I have a lot of good stories from my Bellevue days, though.
Oh, and no pictures doesn't mean I'm Quasimodo. Not professionally wise to have my patients seeing my photos on these things. Email me and I'll be less mysterious with my appearance.

What I’m doing with my life

Practicing psychiatry, trying to find a balance between professional life and personal. I meditate, I read, I drink and eat with friends, nothing exceptional.

I’m really good at

my job, honestly, which means I'm a good listener, empathic, and know a lot about psychopharmacology. I can talk for hours about the 5HT receptor subtypes (sounds great, right?).

The first things people usually notice about me

ask them I guess...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

David Foster Wallace, Civilwarlandinbaddecline, Children of Men, jazz, electronic and indie, French food

The six things I could never do without

Computer, NYC, the view from my apartment, my iphone (music and books on tape), passport, a pen.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People.

On a typical Friday night I am

having dinner or drinks with friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is that I'm too private to share on the internet.

You should message me if

you are passionate about something, anything, you see the world as it is but still love the people in it, make me laugh or astonish me (the latter is difficult, given all the givens), be always kind to those who need it, regardless of whether they deserve it. A great smile or laugh wouldn't hurt.
