My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The qualities I like most about myself (and admire the most in others) are kindness, humor, empthay, loyality, curiosity, intelligence and creativity.

I have a comfortable and mostly stable life and that's usually how I like things to be. I'm open to new experiences and adventures but I'm not always quick to seek them out.

I love to learn new things and understand how things work so that makes me a bit of a nerd. I'm hesitant to label myself that becuase people get the wrong impression. I just happen to know a lot about how things like micro processors and the Internet works. That knowledge has provided me with a good career and it is very interesting to me but it doesn't define me. I don't fit the rest of the nerd/geek stereotype mold very well.

Music is a big part of my life. I always have a backlog of new music to listen to. I like to work on my own projects sometimes which are mostly post-rock because I couldn't write a traditional song to save a baby kangaroo's life. Sorry little baby kangaroo. I will avenge your death. Who kills a baby kangaroo because someone won't write them a song? That's fucked up.

I am very interested in current/world events and have strong political opinions. I would describe myself as a progressive in the old sense of the word. I'm definitely rooted in liberal principals but I'm very pragmatic.

I love to read for entertainment and education. I'm a casual sports fan mostly NBA and Formula 1. I'd like to travel more in the future. I've been to Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland so far.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working, sleeping, reading, listening to lots of music, going to concerts sometimes, aimless drives to nowhere and back. Boring answer but honest.

That’s partly why I’m here to meet some interesting new people. For some reason in this area people tend to stick together with their little groups and are not very inclusive of strangers so it’s hard to meet new people. I spent some time in California a few years ago and I was shocked how much more friendly and inclusive people were out there. In the first week I met more random strangers there than I have my entire life here. If I could drop everything and move I would but unfortunately it’s not that easy once you already have roots in a region.

My career is very nerdy and obscure so I'll spare you the details. Usually when someone asks me what I do for a living I just say that I do stuff, then other stuff happens, then I go home. The important part is I'm very lucky to have a career doing work that interests me and I enjoy doing.

Game of Thrones & Dark Tower are my favorites series. I like bad pulpy zombie novels. I read a lot of non-fiction these days mostly history, politics, science, and biographies.

The movie that had the biggest impact on me is Synechode, NY. I've seen it at least 3 times and I'm still not sure I understand it but I really want to. I tend to like quirky indie movies about strange people or comedies with lots of dick jokes.

Peep Show, Shameless, Veep, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Archer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Legit, Wilfred, Arrested Development, Newsroom.

Indian, Thai, Japanese are my top choices if I'm eating out. I'm not very picky about food and like to try new things. I like pie a lot. Ice cream is a perfectly acceptable meal now and again.

Broken Social Scene, Destroyer, Flaming Lips, Do Say Make Think, Mercury Program, Radiohead, Peaking Lights, Iron & Wine, Explosions In The Sky, Maps & Atlases, Appleseed Cast, Pavement, The Jicks, Decemberists, Wolf Parade, Pink Floyd, Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, MGMT, Long Winters, 3nd, Grizly Bear, American Analog Set, Wild Nothing, Beach House, The Shins, Soul Coughing, Sea & Cake, Rural Alberta Advantage, Real Estate, Beach Fossils.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Music

2) Mac/iPhone

3) Espresso

4) Transportation

5) Rectangles

6) Summer in New England (as much as I hate the winter here it does make me appreciate the summer so much more)

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights are usually when I clean the house and do other chores I put off all week. If in the near future a robot is invented to do these things for me I would definitely consider other options if the robot was OK with that of course.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm great at friend zoning myself. I've been told by more than one person in retrospect it sent the wrong message to them and that's why things didn't go anywhere. I think it takes more than one date to decide if you like someone as a person and it's hard to consider anything more until you do. Can we grow up here and have more reasonable expectations? I'm not looking to rush into any mistakes. I've had enough of that thanks.

If I looked at your profile and never messaged you. I probably find you interesting but don't know how to come up with a clever message that stands out from all the non-sense messages girls deal with on these sites. It's kind of a one shot deal right?

You want to help me bring Carl Sagan back to life using bio engineering or perhaps magic.

You need a partner fighting off the zombie apocalypse and are willing to overlook my possible role in accidentally starting it.

Your interests include magnets or you looked forward to doing long division in math class.

You want to do science. We could get a chemistry set.

You want to build scale model airplanes in a very poorly ventilated room.
