Your Notes
Edit your notesI am a filmmaker, a traveler, and a fan of Tanqueray.
My Self-Summary
I like documentaries, PBS, liberation, illumination, economic development (and debating the meanings of this term), dancing, laughing and Tanqueray.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
I'm also good at traveling. I've been loads of places and am good at finding my way around, even some of the most confusing spots on the planet. I'm talking about you, Dubai! I like roughing it and winging it, which, when written down, looks ridiculous, but it's still true.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite Music:
New Order; Richie Hawtin; Magda; Herbalizer; Orb; Orbital; Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings; Voxtrot; Bjork; !!! & Out Hud; Mavis Staples; Public Enemy; the Perceptionists & Def Jux; Matthew Dear; George Michael; Mission of Burma; Marvin Gaye; the Police; Stevie Wonder
Favorite Movies:
Ug, this is really hard for me to answer. If I could make any film, it would be something like "Why We Fight". I love "The Insider" and "Eternal Sunshine...". I adore classics like "The Last Laugh" and I like subtitles. They give me an excuse to watch a film twice. But the movies I've seen most are "The Princess Bride" and "When Harry Met Sally". I can't believe it myself, but Rob Reiner can be brilliant. And I have dreams about marrying Milos Forman.
Favorite Books:
anything by Michael Chabon, Angela Carter; honestly there aren't enough hours in the day for me to finish a book. Or at least there haven't been since 2004 when I re-read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and that was because I flew from Japan to Australia to Japan to Chicago. Although I read 90% of "All the Names" by Jose Saramago this summer. It's sitting right next to my bed. And the magazines keep piling up and piling up, demanding my attention. Their curse is their timeliness; they quickly become worthless and wasteful.
