guess I could write a super flattering profile, paint an overly
rosy picture of myself, and tell you how smart, funny, and popular
I think I am. But then, that would be "Dating by Deception", and
one thing about me, I hate Liars. You see, it really don't matter
how smart, funny, and popular I think I am, what matters is what
YOU think of me, and what I think of you!
Sure, I can be positive, happy, and outgoing, but not when I am with a girl who is as negative as a battery terminal, and needs to be on a Prozac Drip.
I see Internet Dating like shopping for a pair of Jeans. I see a pair of Jeans I like in a store. Wow, they are on sale too! I grab them, with high hopes, and head for the dressing room, to try them on. OMG, they actually fit! I turn around, how do they make my Butt look, my legs ? I squat down, to stretch them a little, but oh Shit, I can't breathe! I realize these Jeans are so tight, I could fart, and blow my shoes off. Undaunted, I return them to the shelf. They looked really good, on the 20 year old Mannequin in the store. But they were not right for me.
I had to try them on, to find out.
I think Internet Dating is like that. We look at each others pictures, and say "He or She looks cute, and then we message each other, or meet for Coffee or Lunch, for the "interview". In effect, this is little different from shopping for clothes. Just as we want clothes to comfortably fit, we want our prospective partners to "Fit" our ideals of a future wife or husband.
How many times have you seen the "perfect profile", only to meet the Guy, and find out he was nothing like he said he was in his profile, or a real jerk ?
