My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm generally just an easy-going, laid back type guy. I tend to be shy at first (working at it..) which can be an impediment to meeting new people, and would love to make some new friends and, ideally, a guy to spend the rest of my life with. I enjoy travel, cooking, working on my home, working out, reading, anything outdoors (including camping), and anything that adds a little spontaneity and adventure to my life. Educated professional, from a blue-collar background, so I can fit into a broad range of social settings but feel most comfortable somewhere in the middle- real-world people that have had to work a little to get where they are in life. Workout 5X a week (LA Fitness & Planet Fitness, weights and cardio) and in good but not perfect shape. Very open-minded and love to discuss/argue politics, religion, gay rights, and the news of the day. Always open to new ideas and experiences.

In a guy, the things I find most attractive are personality, honesty, passion, romanticism, intelligence (not necessarily book smarts) and a good and perhaps a little offbeat sense of humor. I strive to make the one I'm with feel special and loved, and expect the same in a partner in life. Less attractive are those with tunnel vision or that value appearances over substance, are judgemental, have an obsessive-compulsive relationship with one or more electronic devices, and those that are more committed to their career and getting ahead than to their partner.

I am passionate, introverted, and an architect. INFP personality type.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working, and generally enjoying life. Spending a lot of time at the gym. Physical, mental, and emotional self-improvement are ongoing projects.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Worrying and getting stressed out. And acting like a dork.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My arms, apparently- have been getting a lot of compliments on them lately. Also that I'm shy around people I don't know- I'll flirt but will rarely approach someone I don't know. Some may interpret it as stand-offishness, but that's not the case; once you get me talking you may not be able to get me to shut up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Used to read mostly epic fantasy- Wheel of Time, etc- but have been expanding my reading list lately. Just finished Now is the Hour by Tom Spanbauer. Can't really name a "favorite" but at various times I've been into horror, fantasy, gay fiction, and political stuff. As for movies, just about any genre, including documentaries & art flicks. I usually listen to pop and alternative rock, and love 80's music... it's what I grew up with. And, I like just about any food as long as it's not bland or excessively hot, but especially Mexican and Italian. Is that vague and noncommittal enough?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A place to live, food, love, water, sex ... and, of course, money! Not necessarily in that order... Things I'd really hate to live without- my car, my computer, trees, personal mobility, books, and my dog Abby. I'd love to live without daily stress and (sometimes) the TV and my cell phone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I can't believe how many people have allowed themselves to become slavish to their electronic devices, to the point where they can't pull their phone away from their ear long enough to check out at the supermarket, or don't know how to do basic math or write an email with more than 160 characters. Personally, my ideal vacation would be spent somewhere romantic or exotic with just my partner, and the cells, crackberries, and laptops would all be left at home!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out catching a drink or two at a bar perhaps every other week. I do like to dance, even if I'm horrible at it. When I'm not out I'm in front of the TV, watching a DVD, or reading. Or online. When I'm with someone, I'd expect to be spending quality time with that person.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm terrible at sports!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're still reading this, and might be interested in dating, chatting or hanging out with someone new. I tend to be attracted to those that take care of themselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially... you don't need to be in great shape in any of these areas, just actively working at them rather than sitting around talking about doing something.

Or, if you already know me and want to give me a hard time about my profile and test results! And you're not my ex, who keeps popping up as a recommendation.

Live in Ypsilanti, but work in Ferndale (and love an excuse to go for coffee or a drink after work).
