My self-summary Propose an edit

This spring, I graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Mathematics and German Studies, and I still don't know how that happened. Now, I'm about to head off to the University of Michigan to study at their School of Information and eventually get a Masters in at least one strange acronym, probably LIS.
Currently, though, I'm working in a library and reading a lot, normally science fiction and fantasy, but also anything else that looks interesting. I'm also missing being at Smith because I started gaming this past year and miss having crazy-fun RPGs to de-stress with.
And gaming is probably the only time I can be social when first meeting a group of people, as I'm really shy outside of playing outgoing characters.
I also spend a ridiculous amount of time knitting. You know, that thing that grandmas do. Yes, that. No, not the thing with a hook, the thing with two or more needles. Except when it's a circular needle, I suppose...
I also like to go walking and hiking. And I tend to babble.

I'm working at a library, getting ready to go to library school, knitting a lot, and spending a lot of time writing letters, for some bizarre reason.

Giving shoulder rubs and being random. I am less than really good but slightly better than just plain good at knitting. Listening, unless I'm babbling, which is another thing I'm good at. I'm also good at ridiculous.

It used to be the fact that I had pink hair, but that is obviously no longer the case. So I don't actually know what the first thing people notice about me is.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: Too numerous to list. Um. I'll go by author. Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, the Abarat books by Clive Barker, George R.R. Martin, Diana Wynne Jones, Neal Stephenson, and I have a ridiculous obsession with adapted fairytales by Robin McKinley.

Movies: Actually, more TV series than movies here. Firefly, Doctor Who, Farscape and Babylon 5 high among them. But also crazy things like Labyrinth.

Music: I... can't even begin to describe it. I do like Flogging Molly, Abney Park, and The Dresden Dolls, but I also love silly Disney music and things like Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.

Food: Sushi. German potato salad and pan-fried chicken, the way my family makes it. Apfeltorte, the recipe I got from a German friend of my mom's. Franzbrotchen. The really good balsamic chicken PlaidViking made me for dinner once. (That man can COOK.)

My computer, the internets, books, knitting, other people (especially friends) and... I don't know what the last one is.

Mostly, trying to get my life in order, because right now it feels scattered across half the country.

Ideally, I would be gaming, but right now, it's more reading, playing with the internet, or watching movies. Occasionally, writing letters and playing with cats.

People thought I was a boy in high school, so I never actually dated in high school. But I figure high school was pretty miserable for most people, so I can't imagine I'll have any worse horror stories than anyone else.
