My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I relocated to connecticut just a few summers ago from Nebraska, and work didn't really give me much opportunity to really figure this place out... until now. My hours have completely changed (for the better), and it's become humanly possible for me to meet other people at a reasonable hour, so I'm starting to make an effort in that direction. I've always been about experiencing more of life, going places, doing things. I've traveled through most of north America and hope to travel to a few other countries eventually.

A little more to know about me is I'm trying to enjoy life while working towards my own goals. I am a computer programmer and currently working as a technician and website designer while also working nights as a poker dealer. In my spare time I study hapkido and kendo. Test out new video games and even design a few for fun. I like to go out and meet new people, hit the movies or go up to devils hopyard and go hiking. I also draw in my spare time (posted a pic of one) and enjoy a good book.
Professional poker dealer with aspirations to be a game designer (working on college for programming associates degree)

I am spontaneous, sweet, reliable, and romantic.
Since it was asked how a person can be both spontaneous and reliable without being a contradiction I thought my response to that question was a good addition to my profile.

It makes for a fun contradiction. Simply put, when it comes to friends and family I am very reliable. I never break promises and am always there for them. Now the spontaneous part of me likes to just up and go out, act goofy when the situation allows for it. But reliability comes first when it concerns things of importance.

Life calls for a mix of the two, if too much of one or the other you just end up either a bore or obnoxious. I learned this lesson the hard way but it made for a much better life when I did.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently working on associate programming degree and helping out my family while furthering my own long term goals.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Art, poetry, goofing off when appropriate, dealing cards, cooking. I like to cook for my nieces when they visit.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes, they change color from green to blue.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I have a wide interest from comics, anime, music, movies, and books but usually enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, and super hero settings the most.

I am a fantastic cook that enjoys cooking for others. Ask to try my sukiyaki dish. I'll cook just about anything depending on whom I'm cooking for.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hmm, thats a tough one. Things come and go so setting things as needed doesn't fit much in life but rather what we cherish or want.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why people never take the time to write about themselves and their interests but post 20+ pictures of themselves in front of a mirror in the bathroom. Can't tell if they have a personality or common interests from a selfie that doesn't describe anything about them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Fridays are my bondage torture days haha, just kidding it's only physical therapy at gym day but close enough. Gotta have a fun sense of humor at PT. Especially when they pull out the bondage gear and have you waddle down a hall all tied up. Half expect to hear someone shout "crap, another one is making a break for it! Quick catch them" :p
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a cancer patient out on short term disability while going through chemotherapy for stage 2B hodgkin's lymphoma cancer for the next few months. Now before judging know treatments are going great and expect a full recovery with minimal side effects in the meantime and looking forward to a long future ahead.

As such I'm looking for someone that'll be understanding and take the time to actually get to know me and doesn't mind staying in with a good movie or video/board game on the days I'm not up for going out.

I still do most anything average person does. Own my own jeep, like to go out, and enjoy good company. Not interested in hook-ups so they can move along. I want to meet someone I can connect with. Enjoy talking with and spending time with. Certain bumps in life certainly gives oneself a better perspective and desire for a real connection.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I am terrible at icebreakers but if you're looking for a friend, a real relationship, someone to chat with or like my profile or my artwork, are interested in japanese culture, techie, geek, nerd, video gamer, musician, artist, poet, comic/manga/anime fan, adventurer, enjoy books, or just want to ask me about anything I didn't think to put in here then feel free to message me. I don't bite...much :)

While I enjoy a good conversation and nice making new friends my main reason for being on here is to hopefully meet my match and go from there so if you are only looking for friends or not interested in looking for a possible relationship please have the courtesy of being upfront about your intentions. In no rush but nice to at least know if mutual interest while talking.
