My Self-Summary

Oh, I just love music and mushrooms - mmmm - and the movie Amélie!

lol. Sorry, their example makes me laugh.

I'm currently living in Corpus Christi, TX. It sucks and I wouldn't wish this town on anyone. That will be remedied soon, as I'm going to burn this entire city to the ground... I mean, I'll be leaving... lol.

And I recently decided maybe my intro shouldn't be quite so cynical, so here goes another attempt...

I'm an idealist, with realistic intentions. My goal in life: Make the best out of life and help people find happiness while I seek happiness as well. I know I can't help everyone. Hell, I probably don't like everyone out there either. But look at it this way. Everything you do, every word you say, affects someone. The way you live your life may inspire someone else to do something better for the world. So when I die, I'll live on in the ways that I've helped change other people.

Ok... I went from cynical and bitchy to deep personal views... hmm...

Hi! My name is Hawk. Obviously I don't have any clue how to summarize myself in a little box. So... how about if you'd like to get to know me, just send me a message. K? Thnx.

What I’m doing with my life

I graduated from TAMU-CC in August 2008 with my BA in Psychology and am working as a crisis counselor for over 200 counties and mental health screener for about 8 counties. I intend to work here a while longer and then move back to the Houston area and eventually finish up my MA and PhD.

I’m really good at

listening and helping give advice. I also tell a lot of stories and have very dry humor, along with being cynical. I'm a really good friend and am very loyal to the people I care about. I've sacrificed my own priorities many times to help out a friend in need.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm really not sure. My stunning good looks? My sparkling personality? My really long tongue? hahaha. I have no clue.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Authors... Jacqueline Carey, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, Kim Harrison, Stephanie Meyer

Book Genres... GLBT/LGBT Literature, Psychology, SciFi/Fantasy

Movies... pretty much the same as books, but I love Horror and Psychological Thrillers

Music... Varies. Classical, Pop, Rock, Punk. I have over 5000 songs on my iTunes, so let's not list them all.

Food... Food sucks, there need to be a wider variety of choices and flavors, lol. I try to stay away from junk food, and I don't really like Mexican much. Also, weird random fact - I don't eat ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, pickles or tater tots. Yuck.

The six things I could never do without

1) Computer with internet access

2) Writing and drawing tools (yes, I write, and when I write, I have to handwrite stories first)

3) My friends

4) Music

5) A real bed. Sleep on a slowly deflating air mattress every night for a few months and you'll understand.

6) A well-paying job. Cause I work to support myself and I can't stand being in debt.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Stop studying strife and learn to live the unexamined life... Life's more painless for the brainless.

lol. I love that song, but trust me, that's not how I am.

Anyways, in answer to the question: Usually work. I spend most of my time there. And trying to figure out what the next step is for me. Take it one day at a time, but there's got to be some planning involved. Right now the biggest thing on my mind is how I'm going to get through the next few months and if I'll be able to move to Houston. *cross fingers*

On a typical Friday night I am

At work. Not surprising as the crisis line has no holidays.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think hot showers are the best things ever invented. Some days I will almost forget to start washing myself until the water starts turning cold.

You should message me if

You'd like to talk and get to know me better. And if you're not going to flake out on being friends.
