My self-summary
Here's a bullet list of what I care about:
- Bringing people together
- Empowering people
- Being a good role mode and teacher
- Learning new perspectives

I am really passionate about supporting communities, so I spent a lot of time working with people to keep them alive. I spend a lot of time in Japantown connecting young professionals with the area and its history. I spend time as a role model for a buddhist youth group in Sunnyvale and Los Angeles. I'm also a lead volunteer and coordinator for Karma Kitchen.

When not doing the above I love to travel. I've been throughout Europe and a few parts of Asia. Seeing both tourist spots and ways average people live their lives gives me more ways of feeling connected to would be strangers and appreciation for the impact of my life. Now I just need to find a sweet travel buddy :)
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to figure out this thing called balance and failing awesomely.

For work, I help build Google Translate. I do a lot of engineering and a little bit of design since our team has a funky composition. I really love it as work because it allows other people to connected and communicate. And you can't fall in love if you can't communicate! So I like to think I'm secretly a matchmaker with language. I also like to think people are learning to build windmills and support themselves with Translate. It's a warm feeling inside.
I’m really good at
Not Listening to Common Sense. I recently played basketball barefoot . A lady friend declared I need a SO to keep me from doing foolish things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I frequently bleach my hair because I want to dye it gray (A dream I've had since I was 8) but I never go through with it and live with the partial bleached hair. It stands out.

Role Models
A welcoming community
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Would my 20 year old self like my current self? Would I be a good role model to myself?

How does a community build itself to be inclusive? How does it stay adaptive while still keeping traditions?

What makes cities so awesome? What would make them even more awesome?
On a typical Friday night I am
Teaching high school kids how to rock at life. I help run a Buddhist youth group that meets on Fridays in Sunnyvale. Then I get to figure out a way home without a car.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My arm once fell asleep on my face while sleeping. When I woke up I was mid dream still and thought limbs were falling from the ceiling so I leapt out of bed and searched for these mysterious ceiling limbs.
