My self-summary
Editing my profile RIGHT NOW. Yeah. Get excited? Or something. Basically, this is my way of asking you to stop reading RIGHT HERE until this box goes away. Please? No? Alright.

That being said, I keep getting stuck on this whole self-summary thing. Eventually, I'll probably end up getting drunk and writing a rambling incoherent babblefest about what makes me tick. But, until then, you're just going to have to go by everything else I've thrown up here. Or converse with me. That is also an option.
What I’m doing with my life
I landed my dream job at the age of twenty-five and am still riding high on that excitement. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that not only allows me to spend four months working up north outdoors every summer but also lets me go to conferences where I get to play games. If this is adulthood, then, damnit, why don't people tell us this as children?!
I’m really good at
Running unplanned events.
Working with children.
Achievement-grubbing in video games.
Editing other people's writing.
Remaining entertained in boring situations.
Being "almost" unpacked.
The first things people usually notice about me
...the fact that I only have one dimple. There, now you won't be able to un-see it either!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Brief History of the Dead; Will Grayson, Will Grayson; All My Friends Are (Still) Dead; Cloud Atlas; X-Wing series; anything by Peter Reynolds, Guy Gavriel Kay, Christopher Moore or David Levithan. I read voraciously.

Movies: Drop Dead Gorgeous; Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang; Shoot 'Em Up; Shelter; Mr and Mrs Smith; Thumb Wars; Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog; Cloud Atlas; Young Frankenstein; Miss Congeniality (yes, there is a soft spot for romantic comedies...you've got it too, so don't try to pretend otherwise...); Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day; Children of Men; Closer; Never Let Me Go.

TV: Pushing Daisies; Community; 30 Rock; American Horror Story; Happy Endings; Archer; Fringe; Castle; Smash; The Simpsons (s03-13); Dollhouse; New Amsterdam; Arrow; Merlin...and many more. I watch a lot of television for somebody who hasn't had cable in several years.

Music: Dead Man's Bones; Mumford & Sons; Catch 22; Suburban Legends; Five Iron Frenzy; Matt Doyle; Hunter Parrish; bare; Book of Mormon; Spring Awakening; Rise Against; Macklemore; Flobots; Cosmo Jarvis.

Food: caesar salad; kraft dinner; clam chowder; exciting guesscipes.

Games: Cards Against Humanity; Spot It; Stratego; Super Smash Bros; Perfect Dark; Paper Mario; Skyrim; Oblivion; Civilization 5.

Webcomics: Penny Arcade; Sinfest; Overcompensating; Hyperbole and a Half; Capitol Hillbillies; Buttersafe.
The six things I could never do without
1. Insulin. Because heroin is so 1996.
2. Summers at camp.
3. The support of my closest friends.
4-6. The ability to think of more list items. Wait...shit.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...how I left my camera at home and how that would've been a really neat photo.

...ways to spend less time on the TTC and more time doing things.

...how to effectively program for diabetic youth in a way that is a) not alienating; b) fun and engaging; c) affordable; and d) hip and 'with it'. I have the most trouble with d).

...world peas. Or my perfect date. (hint: it's June 2.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Sitting at home writing a report on how we can more effectively program for youth;
Organizing our next taco and mojito night;
Travelling across Ontario to run weekend events;
Or just relaxing, because I can.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that the whole online dating thing makes me supremely uncomfortable. I don't like being judged based on words and images when it would be so much easier to just meet and get to know each other in person.
That, and I am still slightly afraid of the dark. Not enough that I need the lights on, but I do start running if my flashlight dies.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 22–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
...wait, you're still here? Sheesh.

If you were able to get through this mess of a profile, then I guess the best thing for you to do would be to message me. That way, we can discuss the ways music works better than scent to create memory, the hilarity of of a well-timed awkward pause, how satisfying a good round of N64 can be, or why keeping shrimp in the freezer for months is a sign of the apocalypse. Or, you know, other topics.
