I am a massage therapist, a writer, and a Pagan priestess working in the Feri and Reclaiming traditions of witchcraft. (Fear not the woo-woo -- according to a psychology researcher friend, I am more skeptical than the average social scientist.) I have a PhD in Religion and Literature and am currently working on some publishing projects in that vein. I am also a multiply-published erotica writer, though I'm not actively writing fiction right now.

I throw a great party, and I love to spend time with people who can make me laugh! I desperately wish I were funny, but I only get the big laughs when I'm being dead serious.

I am a fantastic conversationalist one-on-one, and also do well in small groups. The big parties where I know no one are still a challenge for me, though. My conversion from introvert to extrovert is not yet complete. ;>

Massage. Studying witchcraft with an eye towards community leadership and teaching. Teaching for a Pagan seminary. Co-editing a collection of academic essays on religion and comics. Maintaining a network of friends and loved ones. Contra dancing.

Other things I'd like to do more of: camping, games in a group (video, board, or otherwise -- RPGs are okay, but probably no long campaigns), road trips, concerts, theater.

I tend to hang out with the following subcultures: academics, geeks, Burners, Pagans, polys, queer folks, kinky people, social workers and therapists, gamers, massage therapists, liberal church people and spiritual seekers. You don't need to belong to one of these groups for me to like you, but if too many of those groups squick you or freak you out, you'll probably hate my parties!

Conversation, understanding people, writing clearly, thinking about big ideas, listening, organizing events (social and educational), getting things done, coping with stress, things you can ask me about when we're already friends. ;>

I am now also pretty good at massage, in that way where most of the people who get on my table are VERY HAPPY afterward, but i still have a sense of how much better i could get!

Movies: The City of Lost Children, The Last Temptation of Christ, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds, Eyes Wide Shut, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, anything thoughtful and weird. I also like genre films, especially sci-fi, horror, and slapstick comedy.

Music: Peter Gabriel, Jethro Tull, Mike Doughty, October Project, Girlyman, Aimee Mann, a lot of folk and world and some electronica

Food: French, Fusion, Tex Mex, California, sushi, eggs prepared in every possible manner. My friends tell me I am great fun to feed because I appreciate every bite sooooo much.

My loved ones, a computer with a broadband connection, a massage table, spiritual practice, my library, residence in a liberal city.
