I am reckless, irresponsible, and bad with kittens.

My Self-Summary

I'm a complex yet colorful character who's just moved to LA from New York to do broader, more creative work in media/entertainment. I'm fascinated by most things artistic--particularly literature, film, philosophy and theater. I love politics/political activism (used to work in DC for Democrats), modern and contemporary art, comedy clubs, U.S. history and listening to Indie 103.1 and KROQ. I'd like to go dancing all night in Ibiza (based entirely on what I've seen on E! channel----people jumping around in foam and such) or visit India.

I've lived all over the world---the Phillipines, Iran, Iraq, even (gasp) Houston, Texas--and spent many many years back east for school (Dartmouth. Yale. school of life...). I like witty banter and flirting with women who are sharp and independent yet still feminine and oozing with life force.

I place a premium on intellectual curiosity and constantly learning/experiencing new things. Major points if you can teach me something new about anything--Tolstoy, econometrics, where to find good New York style pizza in Los Angeles (is there any?), tantra, conceptual art involving igloos, you get the picture. If we can't learn from and challenge each other, we won't get along...

IDEAL FIRST DATE:
If we totally click, how about I roll you up in a carpet and ship you to Greece? We could drive scooters through the countryside, drinking wine and eating cheese, dress up in costumes, paint the sea and photograph the whole thing! I will make you my Mediterranean princess, haha!

What I’m doing with my life

hmm, is this a subtlely philosophical question designed to make us (re)consider whether our time alive is being well spent or wasted? Otherwise, the wording is awful. The OKCupid guys went to Harvard, right? At any rate, I digress. For work, I'm in-house counsel at an LA independent film company. 20 years from now, maybe Congress or international bounty hunting or federal prison...

I’m really good at

1. analysis/overanalysis

2. making people laugh

3. kissing

4. running on a treadmill

5. being in the moment

The first things people usually notice about me

Green eyes. Also, my buttocks are spectacular...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read A LOT, mostly fiction these days. I also watch an obscene number of movies and think film can be a serious artform on par with literature...

Scott Fitzgerald, Phillip Roth, Saul Bellow, Don DeLillo, Toni Morrison, James Joyce, George Orwell, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Herman Melville, William Faulkner, Dostoyevsky, Camus, Walt Whitman, Eugene O'Neill, Harold Pinter, Bill Shakespeare, Chelsea Handler and the guy who writes most of the wikipedia entries...

The six things I could never do without

my family and friends. human connection. laughter. random epiphanies. some sort of exercise. books. movies. leaving the world a better place.

Several of you have pointed out that that is more than six. Whatever, I make my own rules...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

SAG rules, contracts, Natalie Portman, modernism, fishing videos, social justice/our new president, the human condition and what it all means, Thai food...

On a typical Friday night I am

crying on the inside. laughing on the outside. out with friends doing something relaxed (not at a douchey club). watching a film or play. at a comedy club or something otherwise cultural. catching up on sleep I missed because I went a couple of times earlier in the week to avoid the Fri/Sat bumrush...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love the smell of napalm in the morning...

You should message me if

You're independent, curious and creative or at least have creative/artistic interests. You're hilarious--or at least see hilarity in everyday life. You appreciate high-brow and low-brow and all brows in between. You know how to work it and look great in a skirt. You rock.
