books: Love Haruki Murakami, and a bit annoyed he's become uber-popular...good for him, though, I suppose...! Love Garcia-Marquez (I'm genetically predisposed to that one).

movies: Werner Herzog documentaries, "Adaptation" was a favorite, though haven't seen it in forever.

tv: currently, Modern Family, MadMen. Design shows like "Dear Genevieve" are a guilty pleasure, though have zero time for TV these days

music: in high school loved Smiths, Joy Division, Clash etc, but definitely have a hippie streak: Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon,... LOVE anything Stan Getz, lot's of jazz from 1960's or before, Steely Dan (they get their own category, right?), latin music (esp cumbia or bossa nova), ska esp English Beat.

food: almost everything. lately have loved Vietnamese, though Indian is probably the overall long-term fave. love cooking and have recently been making more time for it again after many years. not currently vegetarian (at all), but mostly like to cook vegetarian things.
