My self-summary
I'm philosophically inclined and theoretically directed, often proving to act like a classic absent-minded professor type who pays way too much attention to semantics. I treat things rationally, but I'm not mathematical or scientific, and have my own grand logical schematic (that doesn't and possibly can't make sense to anyone else). I analyze incessantly and continuously. I enjoy watching video games but am not much of a competent gamer myself (a lot of people I recently met thought I was or should - and looked like I'd- be a gamer--whether computer, console or D&D sort). My summer in Japan affected me deeply. I can offer unique book suggestions. I listen to NPR and BBC world news. I peruse Barnes and Noble and Borders bookstores for fun- sometimes after a long day of work- and have often remained there for 3 hours or until closing time. I find world and European history and historiography more interesting than American, and also fancy European intellectual thought over American.

See http://www.intp.org/intprofile.html.

Below are my top five themes of talent, ranked in the order revealed by my responses to the Clifton StrengthsFinder.

1) Input
People who are especially talented in the Input theme have a craving to know more. Often they like to collect and archive all kinds of information.

2) Intellection
People who are especially talented in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions.

3) Belief
People who are especially talented in the Belief theme have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their life.

4) Restorative
People who are especially talented in the Restorative theme are adept at dealing with problems. They are good at figuring out what is wrong and resolving it.

5) Connectedness
People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.

to force the reader into self-examination" -- PROVOCATIONS, in which to an extent different than his, I see as one of my visions, my small scale, personal (1-3 individuals) and interpersonal intentions.

"Plum trees bloom in early spring. It never fails to bloom even if the tree itself is still covered with snow. What the plum tree teaches is, "There is no misfortune that has no exit or hope that leads to fortune."" - about Syou-Chiku-Bai from www.yamatoku.jp

“They expect everything to be laid out for them with a clarity that real life never possesses. They don't like encountering beautiful words that they have never heard before. They'd rather not go deep. Faulkner's fascinations are with words and the complexities of the human story. We desperately need more people who share those fascinations." - Faulkner book reviewer

(1) We lead our lives like water flowing down a hill, going in more or less one direction until we splash into something that forces us to find a new course.

(2) This is why dreams can be such dangerous things: they smolder on like a fire does, and sometimes consume us completely.

(3) ...stumbling along life is a poor way to proceed. You must learn how to find the time and place for things. A mouse who wishes to fool the cat doesn't simply scamper out of its hole when it feels the slightest urge. --Last 3, Memoirs of a Geisha.

My life motto: "live saving," as adopted and refined from my friend's usage of it.

What I’m doing with my life
Ask? Inquire?

I'd say trying to learn/read, more than anything else is something I'm striving for right now. Oh and more thinking. Learn the qualities of a P (perceiving) preference according to either Meyers-Briggs or Socionics (an INTj); it may help you in answering this question.

I hope to become competent in writing, piano again, and musical theory. Publishing something (whether a novel, a theological or philosophical work), employing improvisatory techniques, playing with an impromptu style, and transcribing for piano are all dreams of mine now.

If I can muster the drive and perseverance (good luck, right!), I hope to teach myself over the years (let's call it my preemptive project before the projects that will hopefully lead to my ultimate goal- in this regard) the higher mathematics such as differential calculus, at the least, basic set theory (if not gaining as much ground as particularly post-Cantorian), and logic. I intend to study, grasp, and conjure up the intellect/ability to engage with theorists similar to Alain Badiou (his metaphysical & ontological output). I'm sure the maths will assist in more easily understanding the likes of Kurt Godel, Rene Descartes, Leibniz and Pascal too. This is just an idea for an idealistic ambition. Who knows if it will be accomplished or not, or given its proper due by following through and the effectual transference to applied action. Knowledge in and of itself does not necessarily necessitate doing anything with it to be satisfying.

One day I may pay the exorbitant price to achieve my certification in Keirseyan temperament to administer those sort of instruments.

Another dream of mine is to eventually own one of those independent, local used bookshops, or facilitate/team up with someone who does.

I’m really good at
: thinking. I think all the day long, about multiple interests. Some say I'm good at ministry, some that I possess some intelligence, some that I'm good at analyzing and "researching," which is really just me following the trails of my curiosity and satisfying my ever-present thirst to continuously learn, not formal research. See my Clifton's Strength Finders themes as listed in 'my self-summary' section for what I'm supposed to do naturally, and also any reliable description of INTPs to discover what people of my personality type usually excel in. I'm apparently good at confusing people when I speak or write too. Friends have recently been declaring that I have a good sense of satirical humor in writing, and also that I'm a good writer in general. My colleagues at work claim I was the master coffee brewer of the office, and enjoyed my really strong brews, sometimes exhibiting my experimental blending.

The first things people usually notice about me
: most definitely my height, my tendency towards introversion (and almost total silence), my intense stares/gazes, the fact that I'm usually absent-minded or off (mentally) in another world, my observant stance and position in public (but rarely offer my position or personal "insight" to the topic of discussion or small-talk), my mysterious persona, that fact that I usually avoid disclosing specifics concerning my life or person concerning personal matters, my almost total ignorance of my environment other than what has currently captured my attention, my complex, wordy, generally obfuscating, extraneous, convoluted, and obscurest articulations and run-on sentences (think Sartre, Henri Bergson, James Joyce's Ulysses, John Owen, Herman Melville, Victorian, Henry James).

As for truly answering this question, I can't. I'd say one would have to ask the subject of interest's friends, family, acquaintances, etc., and that it isn't really something people are accurately able to assess themselves. You can disagree with me if you insist on it.

People claim a breadth of vocabulary as evident in my attempts at communication and socialization.

It has recently been noted by a fairly new female acquaintance of mine that my "vast knowledge" was found to be perceived as rather profound. Contrarily, another respectable male UF freshman debate champion has found my dense and vague verbosity to be an absolutely deliberate means at attempting to remain at a safe distance by enjoying being perceived as and acting uniquely and different/weird. One female on here I befriended claims to find the above as personally refreshing and almost commendable. Multiple choice: take your pick.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
日本、日本人,泉乙市、堺市、杏子, theology, possibilities (like what to pursue or what would be neat to pursue or learn as a discipline unofficially: writing, composing music, schooling, etc), intuiting connections between people, true motives, etc., personality theory, knowledge improvement, why, how, many other things I wouldn't even possibly be able to list on call
