I can't summarize myself... I think of myself as a
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it. I have a lot of interests, and intend to keep pursuing
them until the day I shuffle off this mortal coil. Aging is
inevitable, but acting it is optional.
I’m really good at
Listening, talking, cooking, knitting, coming up with unusual
things to do (and planning), not being what might be expected. I
also really care about 'the quality of life'- life is short, but it
should be wide, rich with experiences. I love to travel and meet
and talk to folks; total strangers tend to tell me their life
stories..and I'm good at listening to them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a really great smile- and a wicked sense of humor, but that
comes a bit later. I'm also pretty friendly and outgoing- it's a
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Extremely eclectic..like alternative/art/indie films (Marley,
Mumford, anything with Hugh Grant), but also mindless ones that are
probably killing brain cells...and, I confess, martial arts films
that feature Jet Li.
Read voraciously, just about any/everything; yup, I'm proud to be a
I love plays done by community and high school theater groups- as
well as Broadway and off-Broadway.
Like ethnic food- and can cook a lot of it, too!
Music..ohman...folk, alternative country, bluegrass, Cajun/zydeco,
some rap (old-school), some reggae, blues, old-timey, rock..
The six things I could never do without
Meeting new folks, music, walking, books, a great cup of coffee and
off-the-beaten path adventure!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to live a caring and meaningful life...but not obsessively, and
not as a 'goody-two shoes.' Just don't want to squander a minute of
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical? Not hardly...listening to music, seeing a movie, hanging
out in my backyard watching the sky.. During the school year, it's
usually spent 'decompressing.'
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like disco. Always have, always will.
