I'm 27 years old, male, Norwegian, about 5'10 tall, and dark haired. I wear my hair long, usually loose, but I wear it in a pony tail when I have work to do or otherwise need to keep the hair out of the way. Music-wise, I am very much into metal, but not to the point of disregarding other genres. My interests are diverse, many of them quite nerdy.

I have a sense of adventure, and love to try new things, and keep an eye out for them, whether it's an activity, a new dish or music. I also love to tell jokes, and I have a large reserve of both kindergarden-friendly and bawdy jokes and stories. My sense of humour is wide, and can both very light and fun-loving and rather morose. I love Blackadder, a series full of both slap-stick and dark humour. My favourite past-times are reading and gaming. I'll read almost anything from Shakespeare to Tom Clancy to textbooks on subjects that interest me.

Politically, I'm a liberal. I believe that the individual should have the right to make their own decisions, and that the freedom and liberty of the individual are very important. At the same time I also believe that the state must not only provide a safety-net for its inhabitants, but also enact laws that help protect the people. It's a balancing act, and a very careful one. I have no real pet causes, thought I make sure to read up on all the parties before elections to make sure I vote for the one I feel is the best.

As a person, I'm a cynic and a sceptic, but I'm also open-minded enough to give everyone a fair and equal chance. Furthermore, I'm a good listener, and I have no problem sitting down with someone and let them get things off their chest if it helps them.

Working on a bachelor in History. I love history, it's a subject I find both rich and interesting, especially the period that ranges from the fall of Rome to the start of the Crusades. Looking into the cultures that came to dominate Europe in that period is very interesting. I could happily spend a whole day reading about the Viking age, in particular the voyages of the Vikings and their settlements around Europe. It's a period full of change and turmoil, and it sparked of events that would shape the next several centuries. I intend to eventually become a teacher, and I hope to inspire more people to find history interesting. Becoming a teacher is my major goal in life right now.

Other than my studies, I fill my days with friends and hobbies, such as reading and gaming. I visit the student gym a few times a week to keep myself reasonably fit and healthy.

Listening and recalling facts

My appearance. I have long hair and I wear mostly black clothing, so I tend to stick out a little. Soon after that, personality shows up. Clothing-wise, my preferences run to jeans and t-shirts. Usually, I wear the sleeves of my sweaters rolled-up, as that keeps the sleeves from being dirtied if I happen to get involved with something that requires a hands-on approach, be it taking out the trash or helping someone move something.

I read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy, as well as quite a few works from other genres, be it Shakespeare or Heinlein. I'm currently reading several series, concentrating on the Horus Heresy series and A Song of Ice and Fire.

I listen to a variety of music, though I much prefer metal. A look through my playlists will surprise. You'll naturally find various genres of metal, but also country and classical music. Lately I've been listening to a lot of doom metal, though increasingly I'm adding older classics such as The Doors to the playlists for variety.

I love spices and hot food. Dishes with lots of taste and variety are high on my list. I like to have a little bit of everything, really.

Movies I watch are diverse. My DVD collection includes both Star Wars, Oldboy, Equilibrium and Once Upon A Time In The West. I can't really say I have any favourites, anything in my collection will be seen and re-seen with some regularity.

I have a very active mind. I let my thoughts wander a lot when I'm alone. I might be thinking about an idea for a short story, pondering on something I saw or read or heard during the day, or just daydreaming a little to get my mind off the day-to-day things.

I could be at home, reading a book, or I might be out with friends, going to the movies or meeting new people.

My guilty pleasures include very, very bad movies, such as Mega-Shark vs Giant Octopus.
