My self-summary
Sorry I haven't gotten to this yet. I promise, it is forthcoming.
What I’m doing with my life
I finally went back to school, and I'm now finishing up my degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I've loved being back at college, though the age difference between myself and my fellow students has been a little awkward. I still do my 'slacker' job, but I recently started a new job as a pharmacogenetic rep, and I intend to do that full-time while I consider what step I wish to take next in my education.

I've been extremely busy lately, which I enjoy, but it makes it difficult to meet people.
I’m really good at
...writing in APA (American Psychological Association) format. I make a mean lasagna. I used to dominate in air hockey, but it's been a long time since I've played. Oh, yeah- I also invented a hiccup cure that actually works. Eventually, I'll reveal it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I like to read science fiction and fantasy novels. Some of my favorite authors include Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Kim Harrison, and Charlaine Harris. I've read most of the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, but he kind of lost my interest after going on an extremely long hiatus. I also like books about neuroscience, genetics, some physics books, etc.

A couple of books that I still think about long after I've read them: The Gate to Women's Country by Sheri S. Tepper, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls by Robert Heinlein, Signal to Noise by Eric Nylund, and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Movies:
I'm a sucker for movie adaptations of comic books (Thor, Iron Man, etc.). This year, I loved Skyfall, Lincoln, The Bourne Legacy, Ted, and The Avengers. Historically, some of my favorite movies include Dumb and Dumber, Happy Gilmore (mostly because of Bob Barker), Memento, 28 Days Later, Star Trek, The Hurt Locker, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Prestige...

My television habits tend towards the realm of guilty pleasures (okay, so does my taste in books and movies!), like Scandal and Once Upon a Time. I also love Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Chuck, House, Lie To Me, Modern Family...

Why doesn't this section mention podcasts? Some of my favorites include the NPR ones, TED talks, Cognitive Dissonance, Reasonable Doubts, Common Sense with Dan Carlin, Hardcore History, Stuff You Missed in History Class...
The six things I could never do without
Aside from the obvious things required to literally stay alive, here are the six things/people that I really don't WANT to have to do without:

-My best friend, KG. She's the person most like me in the world, and, conversely, the yin to my yang.
-My brother. He's the only other person in the world that understands what it's like to be the child of our parents. I'm not sure if we're siblings, or a two-person support group. (I love my parents, but sometimes...)
-My various electronic gadgets.
-A great book to read.
-Something new to learn/explore.
-At least one pet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...problems I might be able to solve, or perhaps how I might design a psychological experiment. Why I can't seem to come up with a great idea for a novel. I also think about jokes that I could imagine saying in a comedy routine.

I also think about how it's unfair that there are shoes that make you taller, but none that make you shorter.
On a typical Friday night I am
It sucks, but I'm usually working on a typical Friday night. However, on a night that I have off, I like to spend it with one or more of my good friends. Which friend I hang out with generally dictates what we're likely to be up to, whether it's going out to dinner or to our favorite bar, or seeing a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ha ha. Nice try, internets!
