My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Kasey.
I'm looking for someone to groove with, laugh with, talk with, and maybe run away and start a sustainable farm/commune with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm raising my son, working at two restaurant jobs (caffeine, work, pot, sleep, repeat), drinking copious amounts of craft beer, and taking frequent journeys to the Mysterious Beyond. Join me?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Befriending cats, serving, drinking, esoteric Internet research, book buying, self-deprecating, taking righteous bong rips, dry humor, being so aggressively weird and sarcastic people explain simple concepts to me, quoting stand up comedians.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
All I know is what people comment on: my laugh, my hair, my smile, my hips, my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

If I start reading in the same room as you, you will have to pry the book from my hands to get my attention back.
I honestly can't think of a book I didn't finish.

I really enjoyed East of Eden, A Spot of Bother, A Hundred Years of Solitude, Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, American Gods, Annie On My Mind, Lolita, Stories.

Movies: Dead Poet's Society, Submarines, TransAmerica, Lost and Delirious, Nothing, The Breakfast Club, Celeste and Jesse Forever, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wristcutters, Groundhog Day, Lost In Translation, Lars And The Real Girl, The Big Lebowski, Moonrise Kingdom, Away We Go.

Alexisonfire, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Awolnation, Balance And Composure, The Black Keys, Brand New, Bright Eyes, Built To Spill, Cake, Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Citizen, Coheed and Cambria, The Dismemberment Plan, Damned Things, Doomtree, The Doors, Eagles of Death Metal, Every Time I Die, Fall Out Boy, Fleetwood Mac, Foxy Shazam, Fun., The Head and the Heart, Jack White/everything he's ever done, Mumford and Sons, Rival Sons, Say Anything, Straylight Run, Sublime, Taking Back Sunday.

I fucking love food. I eat everything, especially olives, sauerkraut, asparagus, turkey, yellow cheeses, cucumbers, sweet peppers, and anything with cheap buffalo sauce.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My son.
2. Caffeine
3. Creatures, both furry and scaly.
4. The Internet
5. Time spent with my feet and hands covered in dirt
6. Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Half-formed plans I have for my future.
Alternates for said plans.

Mushrooms, urban design, the history of language, how our culture shapes our reality. how to make my life and my house more efficient, something odd that happened at work, how tired I am, how beautifully improbable it is that life exists, the random Goodwill book I'm reading (currently The Natural History of Mosquitos, so that's....tight?)

...also pretty girls.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On my off nights, when my son is with his dad, I like to go to a friends house and drink and smoke with chill friends and new people. Sit on the roof, play some music, unwind.
I don't mind going out, but I usually lack the energy to make it happen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have been homeless, and spent a long time cycling out of that. When I was in my late teens, I found myself skipping school to work so I could pay someone to let me sleep in their car or garage or couch.

Predictably, I made lots of shitty decisions, and one decision that led to my son. He woke me up.
