My self-summary
I'm great at using words. I'm not great at using words to write a self-summary.

If you think we would hit it off, please message me. Or continually visit my profile and see if I get the hint. After about three times I'll probably send you a really uncomfortably specific question. What fun!
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm a hostess at a restaurant downtown. I'm happy with it.

In the future, I see myself working to bring cultural and artistic projects to Indy. I love the city and would love to see it continue to grow.
I’m really good at
Expressing my thoughts verbally, making friends with cats, planning and Type A organizing, falling through on said plans and cluttering up said organization.
I read very fast and very often. I haven't said I'm 'good at reading' since about the third grade, but here we are.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, my laugh, or my knuckle-cracking.

Or, if I have Rowan with me, they notice the adorable blonde monkey I'm chasing down.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read too much. If I start reading in the same room as you, you will have to pry the book from my hands for me to even remember you are there.
I love reading about sexual psychology, sociology, paleoanthropology, linguistics, sustainability, ecology, and culture/gender issues.
I love a lot of fiction books, so I'll get back to you on a better list.

Movies: Submarines, TransAmerica, Lost and Delirious, Nothing, The Breakfast Club, Celeste and Jesse Forever, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wristcutters, Groundhog Day, Lost In Translation, Lars And The Real Girl, Moonrise Kingdom, We Need To Talk About Kevin, Away We Go.

I love music. Here's a slightly arbitrary list of bands I really enjoy on my iPod:
Alexisonfire, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Awolnation, Balance And Composure, Bayside, The Black Keys, Brand New, Bright Eyes, Built To Spill, Childish Gambino, Citizen, Coheed and Cambria, Dessa, The Doors, Every Time I Die, Fall Out Boy, Fleetwood Mac, Foxy Shazam, Fun., The Head and the Heart, Mumford and Sons, Panic at the Disco, Poets of the Fall, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Rival Sons, Say Anything, Spill Canvas, Straylight Run, Sublime, Taking Back Sunday, Underoath.
The six things I could never do without
1. Live shows/music in general.
2. My son
3. My brothers
4. Coffee/tea
5. Walks
6. My books. I have way more than anyone needs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random, vaguely esoteric plans I have for my future.

Alternates for said plans.

The fact that when a scientist studies atoms, it is a group of atoms banding together to study other atoms. Maybe the point of human existence is atomic social research.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out walking. I need long night walks to stay sane.
At a buddy's house, listening to music and taking about everything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was kicked out for the first time when I was 14.
I have been on the streets, couch-surfed for awhile, struggled with depression and self mutilation/suicidal thoughts. Now I'm stronger but still highly driven by my survival instincts. I work hard and long, I save, I worry, I succeed.

I don't hold back information easily. It's as if I missed the 'What will they think?' gene.
