I am a traffic singer, a kitchen dancer, and ridiculous.
My Self-Summary
I was born in DC, but grew up in Connecticut- so I'm constantly
longing for Friendly's ice cream sundaes, the RI shore, and
Patriots games on tv...
When I'm not working I'm generally hanging out with my friends at
some bar, catching up on tv during lazy Saturday mornings,
pretending to be good at playing sports (My softball team is 3-6!
Sweet action...), drinking too many beers or gin and tonics very
occasionally, and generally up for anything with fun people to hang
out with. I also really love domestic things like baking and sewing
and buying organizational tools that I will most likely never
use.
My family and friends are all great and hilarious and make me a
much better person.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a federal program analyst and I love both the work and
the transit benefit.
I’m really good at
obviously, filling in online dating profiles. Also:making cookies
(sometimes they are face-sized); getting lost; throwing things with
my laser rocket arm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have absolutely no idea...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Anything by
David Sedaris or
Sarah Vowell, The Secret
Garden, The Polysyllabic Spree (because it helps me cheat at the
bookstore), High Fidelity, Shopgirl, A Prayer for Owen Meany, In
Cold Blood
Movies: Remember the Titans, Bubble Boy, School of Rock, The
American President, Say Anything, Best in Show, Desk Set, Robin
Hood Men In Tights, Wet Hot American Summer, Breakfast at
Tiffany's, Frankie and Johnny, Bull Durham
Music: Anything and everything- except this crazy acid jazz stuff
my brother likes. I'm currently feeling a little nostalgic and
listening to mostly oldies like the Platters, Jackson 5, and Marvin
and Tammy...
Food: Sandwiches (all types), and almost anything except tomatoes
or fish
TV: LOST, The office, Friends, Arrested Development, The Soup,
Friday Night Lights, How I Met Your Mother. My guilty pleasure is
Sons of Anarchy- don't knock it until you've watched it.
The six things I could never do without
1. My hilarious friends 2. my equally hilarious family 3. air
conditioning 4. comfy pillows 5. my SmarTrip card- fare cards are
for chumps 6. time on the weekends to do whatever I want: sewing
something, cleaning the bejeesus out of my closet, cooking an
elaborate dinner and making my friends eat until they want to die,
taking a random road trip, playing wiffle ball...whatever
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What movie is next on my Netflix queue, when is the last possible
day I can go to the grocery store, when it is appropriate to say Hi
to someone I know who is walking towards me in a long hallway
On a typical Friday night I am
either out with friends at a laid back bar or restaurant,
celebrating the end of the work week with Happy hour, hanging out
at home with a movie or book, on the road visiting family and
friends for the weekend
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
The guys on my softball team all run 10 feet closer when they know
I'll be throwing the ball to them.
You should message me if
You: love to laugh at almost anything, are willing to sing along to
ridiculous music in the car, like to
play outside on nice days, will
indulge my love of the
New England Patriots, will
play sports with me even though I'm completely unathletic, or have
a fool-proof method of determining when it is appropriate to say Hi
to an aquaintance walking towards you in a long hallway. Or, you
really want to.
