My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a laid back person with a wicked sense of humor. I just moved back to the Metroplex from LA. Unfortunately, I don't have any extremely cool hobbies like naked cliff bungee jumping. I'm mostly just doing the day to day of life, going to work, hanging out with friends, and trying to get the draft of a book to meet my standards so I'll submit it to an agent. I like going to pubs or coffee shops where you can relax and talk to the people you're with. I watch a lot of movies and I don't exactly have discriminating taste I'll watch anything from Action to Chick Flick to Academy Award Winner to Independent Film to Children's Movie. I also have a broad taste in music. I'm a teacher at a psychiatric hospital for children and teens (I teach all grades all subjects). This means I am extremely patient and that I almost always have a funny story at the end of the day. I think that's about it for me. If you want to know anything else feel free to ask.

I am extroverted, sharp, and witty
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved into my house in Dallas recently and I've just started a job as a teacher in a psychiatric hospital for kids and adolescents. I was a teacher in Los Angeles for the past 4 years and before that I was in Boston as a graduate student. My other plan is to be a writer, I'm working on a book now but so are lots of people, so we'll see what that brings. I guess I'll just have to see where life takes me. And, for now, that's teaching, getting settled into my house, and hanging out with my dogs, Aias, a boxer (named for Ajax the Greek hero, not the soap), and Alice, a shepherd mix (Named for Alice Cooper as she wandered into my life on the last day of school this year).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Telling a joke (that seems like a dumb thing to put but lots of people are not good at it at all). Also, imparting information, that's why I'm teaching right now.

PS I also give amazing massages
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My laugh. It's lound but not annoying (hopefully. If it is annoying no one has told me). I also laugh easily so people hear it often.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Tough for me, this is just a random sampling of the first ones that came to mind: Crime and Punishment, Harry Potter Series, Middlesex, Kite Runner, Is it a date or Just Coffee, Little Women, The Dangerous World of Butterflies, Anything by Patricia Cromwell, Most mystery/intruge stuff

Movies: It varries from day to day. I guess you can ask me when you contact me and I'll tell you the daily top choice. I tend to like Action, Comedy (witty comedy not so much slapstick comedy), Suspense, Satire, and some Dramas.

Music: Same as with movies it varries. I listen to all kinds of rock (hard, classic, acoustic, etc.) Anything with guitars is something I probably like. If I put my iPod on Random these are the six songs that come up: "Who invited You" by the Donnas, "One Wild Night" by Bon Jovi, "The World I Know" by Collective Soul, "Campus" by Vampire Weekend, "Please, Please, Please" by the Smiths. So I guess that gives you....very little indication because there's so much stuff on my iPod but you get the idea. As long as there's guitars and some lyrics, I'm usually happy. (I'm not a huge fan of house/techno kind of stuff.)

Shows: Criminal Minds (I guess I don't get enough of that at work), Modern Family, Happy Endings, Glee, I think that's about it.

Food: I love meat and potatoes, pizza (any kind of Italian food, really), burgers, cheese, Chineese, Indian, Sushi, and I also love Ethiopian food even though I don't eat it often.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family, Friends, Music, food, water, shelter (okay if the last three are a bit too boring I'll go with laughter, thought and trust) (okay if the three replacing the three boring ones are too conceptual I'll go wtih material objects my cell phone, my computer, and my pictures)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
New ways to teach a tough concept to my students; rewriting scenes from my book in my head; and what's on my daily "to-do" list. Oh, and of course, world peace or word domination (depending on how rough my day was at work).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, or, if I'm behind on my lesson planning, maniaclly plannig lessons at the kitchen table.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am super afraid of heights. I have to steel myself to go up in the attic to change my air filter, or get on a ladder to change a light bulb. I will let my stubbornness overshadow my fear, for the most part, but I do hate it. And I NEVER go on roller coasters for the same reason, but I'm not afraid of flying. I think it's because I trust a well trained pilot much more than the stoned kid who operates the roller coaster....
