I am an old soul, loyal, and fun.
My Self-Summary
I'm one of the few Clevelanders who've crossed over--I grew up on
the east side, but, after living in L.A. for 2 years, a short
commute to work enticed me, so now I'm a west-sider who just
travels all over the city when I'm not working. I love
music, whether I'm listening,
playing an instrument, or singing
karaoke, and I love to
dance when the rhythm's right. In my
heart, I'm a homebody, but I also really like
discovering new
places to have fun. Synchronicities fascinate me; epiphanies
energize me. I enjoy
going for walks, sunset and/or
beach not required. I'm pretty much always up for a game of
Scrabble. I love
animals,
especially
dogs, but
also dolphins, otters, and chimpanzees. And I think there are few
things better than
talking, laughing, and having a great time with the people I care
about most.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to live my life to the fullest--working at a job I love
and that fulfills my need to be creative, playing with and training
my dog so he'll ultimately become a certified therapy dog, hanging
out with family and friends, including visiting those who live out
of town, going to as many of my friends'
improv shows as humanly possible, and
surrounding myself with as much happiness, laughter, and love as I
can.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at playing instruments (I play 5), saving money
with sales and coupons (to me, it's a fun game), word games, and
rhyming.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's a toss up between my petite-ness and my curly, red hair.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Their Eyes Were Watching God, Overture, A Prayer for Owen
Meany, Harry Potter (don't make me pick which), Jane Eyre, Rebecca,
The Glass Castle, To Kill a Mockingbird, Encyclopedia of an
Ordinary Life, Too Late the Phalarope, The Great Gatsby, The
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Phantom Tollbooth, Overture,
any of Sabrina Ward Harrison's journals, and pretty much anything
by Jodi Picoult, Torey Hayden, Kaye Gibbons, or David
Sedaris.
Movies: Any cheesy dancing movies, Chicago, Amelie, A Bug's Life,
Love Actually, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Princess Bride,
Shrek, Across the Universe, Enchanted
Music: Including but not limited to: pop, folk/rock, rock, oldies,
some country, broadway, classical
The six things I could never do without
My dog, my loved ones, my TV and DVR (I know--technically 2, but
it's a package deal!), the internet, enough money to at least pay
the bills, and music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I can do to improve my life, connect more with others, and
make a difference.
On a typical Friday night I am
usually exhausted from the long week, so I like doing something
relaxing, whether it's collapsing on the couch with a dog in my
lap, going to improv shows, or having dinner with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I love memorizing lyrics, but occasionally mishear them. My worst
was when I was a kid and I thought "The Golden Girls" theme said
"You would see the biggest gift would be from me / and a heart
attack would say, 'Thank you for being a friend.'" Hey--I was
young, they were old--it made at least a little bit of sense at the
time!
You should message me if
my profile interests you and you think yours might interest me,
too. (And only if you're in the greater Cleveland area.)
