I was REALLY hoping to get away with not writing anything in this section, but I have to write 100 characters...

I came to the US from England about 5 years ago to go to grad school...and i'm still in grad school! It's probably taking me so long to finish my thesis for two reasons: 1- I'm very easily distracted by my friends, and I love hanging out with them having fun. 2- I'm in a band, which means practicing for and playing as many shows as possible. Not to mention, I do all the booking for the band!

Making light of tough situations and putting things in perspective- you know, trying to take the drama out of life.

Well, the first comment is usually "oh you're english! that's cool". I never really know how to respond to that...

I read a lot of novels and memoirs- loved all Augusten Burrough's books. The last book I read was "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. As for movies, I'll pretty much watch anything, except horror. I like to be entertained, or made to think, rather than scraped off the ceiling after jumping out of my skin.
Music is my favourite thing. I've been playing violin and piano since I was a child, and love that the last couple of years I've been able to do both those things, and sing, in a band. Getting up on stage and performing is nerve-wracking at times, but I've learned to get over my nerves and just enjoy the feeling of making music for people. I listen mostly to indie/rock/folk influenced music. At the moment I have The Shivers, Deer Tick, Bon Iver and Kings of Leon on heavy rotation! I also love checking out the local music scene.

OUT. Usually bar-hopping with my friends or at a show.
