I'm a full-time piano teacher, and a licensed architect. I recently had a blast renovating my small apartment in Park Slope, where I live with my greyhound, Maggie. I absolutely love this neighborhood - an enormous park, beautiful old buildings, the botanic gardens, the food coop...
I love music, and play piano daily (and can also pass muster on violin and guitar).
I grew up with three sisters and like to think this had a positive effect on me.
I'm happiest while doing some sort of strenuous physical activity. I grew up with skateboarding, running, swimming, basketball, and tennis. These days, I have an all-consuming passion for rock climbing, specifically bouldering (technical, intensely physical rope-free climbing). I took it up a few years ago, and climb at Brooklyn Boulders several times a week religiously now. The combination of physical and mental challenge is completely addictive! I also love that it has given me a reason to get outdoors more often - I head upstate to climb pretty much every weekend it's not raining or freezing.
I read a fair amount, and tend to be up on current affairs.
I am very much an optimist, not cynical in the slightest.
