I am a student at SUNY Potsdam, currently majoring in Women and
Gender studies and looking to work as a councilor at a domestic
abuse/women's shelter someday. I am a advocate of gender equality
and consider myself a feminist, the entire movement as well as my
own personal activism is really a very big part of me and it is
something I am proud of. It gives me something to wake up for in
But since I'm just a volunteer in my field of choice as of now, to
pay the bills I work at a stable. I love horses and used to ride
competitively when I was younger, and although the pay isn't great
and it's not my dream job I don't mind being around horses all the
I love traveling but never seem to be able to find anyone to travel
with and one of my goals is to see Europe again some day. I'd love
to spend a summer backpacking across Europe with at least one other
Right now my hobbies consist of the gender equality club I have
co-founded on my campus and volunteering at Renewal House. I used
to sketch and paint when I was younger as well as write fiction and
I am trying to get back into that. I recently got into yoga as
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am a part-time student who works full time at a riding
stable and volunteers at a domestic violence shelter. After I get
my bachelors in a year or two I'll hopefully be moving to either
Boston or Portland ME to get my masters in social work.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm betting it's the really really long, curly hair.

The six things I could never do without

5. My laptop
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Get out of St. Lawrence county, horses, graduating, getting a job
as an advocate or a counselor, having an awesome little apartment
in a city somewhere, feminism, how much I REALLY want one of those
giant savannah housecats, how much I miss my out-of-state friends,
how I'd love to connect with new people.
On a typical Friday night I am
I depends really, my schedule is kind of crazy. Some Fridays I'm on
call, some I'm swamped with homework and some I'm looking for
someone to go out and have a drink with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not really very confident in dating sites.
You should message me if
you wish to know more about someone who is a feminist, liberal,
hippie, non-patriotic humanist, who loves to talk about sensitive
political topics like abortion, religion, gay rights, gender
inequality and the government on the first date.
...and if you plan to write more then just "hey how are you?" or
"what's up" in your message.
