My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Summaries are summarized at the end.... and I am not even close.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making forward progress living life in reverse.... A few years ago, I quit my career as a studio music recording engineer to successfully finish two degrees in Environmental Science and Geography. I now enjoy the ultimate flexibility and satisfaction of working for myself - doing something meaningful that I truly love. When I am not creating my own work schedule, I spend my free time hiking, biking, fishing, cooking, skiing, camping, skipping, hopping, jumping, galloping, gardening, and hunting.... new people to talk to. I would spend every minute of my life outdoors if I could and I am diligently working on making that my reality. I recently moved to the Portland area to help scoot things along.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...balancing a salt shaker on one grain of salt.... for realzies! Note: I will never seriously say 'for realzies' in your presence.

I also sing, dance, joke, laugh, kiss, touch, and listen very well... but none of these things compare to a salt shaker standing on end on a wobbly table in a crowded bar.... no?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
my T-shirts and my eyes... depending on your viewpoint (and your height)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I owned and operated a record store/music venue in a former life.... and so I really shouldn't even start.... but here's a short list of a few klassics: Ween, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, The Elected, The Frames, Ben Folds, Blackalicious, Born in the Flood, BRMC, The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, Athlete, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Dan The Automator, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Breaking Laces, (the artist formerly known as) Cat Stevens, Cat Power, The Dears, Los Halos, M. Ward, Seu Jorge, Trans Am, Stereophonics, (early dirty) James Taylor, John Denver and......... The Unicorns. Don't judge. After two strokes of the space bar, I already regret the above list. Someone will inevitably draw their own conclusion about my personality based upon 0.0001% of my musical taste.

The story is much the same regarding movies, books, and food.... Although, I will note that I have devoted the past couple of years to catching up on my reading after several busy years....

I should mention that I used to have my own private party chef/catering business on the side.... so I can and will impress you with my cooking ;)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Air, water, essential nutrients, my camera, my guitar, The Beach Boys, and "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers (I realize that's 7........... I shoulda known when to fold em').

...and I am fully aware that "The Gambler" part of this section also falls into the "most private thing I'm willing to admit" category.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...what I should type in this box, other solar systems, how to properly dispose of batteries, and whether or not I belong in this place at this time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
still myself... and possibly wearing socks
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I am not all that private.... however, I do have this strange connection to frogs...

I am also a former spelling bee champ (but I try not to showboat)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over. want to take me around the Portland area (while my newbie membership is still valid) and have a real time together without all the first-blind-date bullshit.... go to shows, have some tasty brews, and fully enjoy each other, etc. .... then we'll plan the real adventure.
